Thanks for your kind words chaps - things are going on behind the scenes which make my return in some capacity a necessity.

Anyway, I will endeavour to get a price from our previous supplier for the same sort of badge, whilst pointing out to them that the red enamel does seem to fade/flake off in a small number of cases (i.e. see if they can sort out a better quality control).

Things then hinge on funds being released from the club, but we'll cross that bridge later.
 
That sounds good Mike. As a whole they were very good quality. Well mine are still going strong.

I hope Angie and yourself are well. And you are not to frazzled out with the upcoming olympics.

My originals are still going strong. Well there still on the car the drivers side one has lost its red enamel part, which prompted me to buy two new ones when they was running low, now these going to be fitted after a detail session but as thats coming up 2 years ago when i got them i think its well over due i put them on lol

I think we need a Kudos bit adding to the bottom of the posts so if you agree it can be added the German forum's got something similar

I still thinking its with in keeping with the OEM Audi theme and keep them S/Line style

My sentiments exactly. Stick with the ethos and design of the original badges. To play safe on the quality issue, my order is for 3 pairs of the original badge design.

Mike,

Let's hope we can regain some normality back on these pages (and by that I mean the whole forum).

Two brief observations;

1. I'm pleased you have picked this issue up, even if it's only to inform members why there hasn't been movement.
I did raise the topic of this thread at the last social (and also the one before that) with the social secretaries and the general feeling was as you mentioned - obtaining funds to move the project forward was proving impossible, however the reason was a total mystery.
After my post #89 I thought a response might come from an active co-owner to validate my points or put things straight, but sadly this didn't occur.

2. There are obviously a variety of reasons you have been absent from here, but I truly believe the club is worse for not having guidance from its Technical Director. Now this may just be a title that can be passed on to someone else, but you have a great deal of respect from those who've been here a while and have enjoyed reading your witty, factual and helpful posts.
I hope your future interest in the club will not be limited to updating this thread.

Hi folks

Just to confirm that the club does indeed have the funds to finance another run of badges. I did offer to pick this up from Mike earlier this year - but then my father was taken ill and passed away shortly after. I've been occupied with sorting things out at home ever since so didn't persue the club badges. One of the overheads of the badges was the packaging and delivery logistics. This has always been a challenge for anyone with a hectic job. Sadly there's no easy solution to this. We could split delivery between a group of club distributors to take the burden off a single individual? Other practical suggestions are welcome.

Hopefully we can get something turned around in the next couple of months.

As for the selling of these badges I would be happy to sell them at socials--- alongside the club decals(still waiting for these to arrive in the post, almost 2 years now!)

Are these the ones that are on the merchandise tab of the club? I order a couple sometime ago and havent got them yet!
 
No those are the window stickers. The badges are s line style and stick on to your body work.

Ben sends out the stickers so send him a pm to see where they are.
