A2oc does Duxford Imperial War Museum

Looking forward to seeing you all. I hope Diane is feeling OK Darren.
I would probably give the meal a miss if that's ok please. I really do need to cut down on my food!

Hi

Have a look at the diet I published. It shows you how to lose weight while still eating your favourite foods.
There are some tips here

Thanks Steve. I do agree with you as that is really how I ate when I had braces on my teeth for 8 months. It was such a faff to eat that I only ate when I was hungry and then only enough to stop me feeling hungry. I had a lot of homemade soups and fruit with yoghurt too. I lost 2 stone in 8 months.

But now I don't have the braces, I just don't do it. There is always a holiday, or night out, or birthday etc etc and I have terrible self discipline.
This week I've spent 3 days in Cannes very much enjoying cheese and wine and a girl's night out in a very lovely italian restaurant so am feeling and looking particularly chubby at the moment. I need to sort it out before I hit 50 and am running out of time

I won't swerve this thread too much (Very happy to continue on the "Diet thread")
But I have a simple approach and that is that ANY diet that stops you enjoying your food on nights out or on holiday will be extremely difficult to follow. You need will power to lose weight and if you can't have your favourite foods then that will power will fade rapidly.

But enough of the diet on this thread, as I say I am happy to chat for hours about the diet on the other thread.

Looking forward to that.

As a result of Diane's surgery on Thursday, I'm sorry to say that we will no longer be in attendance tomorrow. I'm gutted to miss out on meeting up with you fine people and the venue is very much on my to-do list; having never been. That said a Battle of Britain air show is top of the Duxford experience.

I sincerely hope that the weather holds strong and you all have a fabulous experience in the museum; broader talking A2s and for those that are going, at the meal afterwards.

I look forward to catching up at ADI, minus children on this occasion.

Best wishes to all,

Darren

Thank you Teresa, she is improving post op and is now hopefully on a long-term road to recovery, which starts here.

Thanks for asking; take care.

Darren

Drive safe to all those attending duxford tomorrow. cheers mike and yvonne

Thank you. I hope you and Vonnie have a safe journey too. I''m looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow - I think we said we were aiming at 11 am aren't we?

Yes 11.00am is correct we hope to be there earlier and hopefully keep some space for others. Fingers crossed for the weather but there is so much to see inside we will be fine. Looking forward to seeing you all. cheers

Well now home after a great day at Duxford. Great turnout with perfect weather-it started off overcast but after an hour or so the sun joined us and it just got better and better. We were treated to a pair of spitfires and the usual flyers in the form of the Rapide and tiger moths. I have seen from Facebook that some of our group got a hands on with the "Sally b" I would have loved that. There is so much to see though. Nice to see some of our newer social attendees joining us again. There was plenty of chat during the day and I hope I didn't bore poor Teresa at the regular coffee stops.
So a big thank you from Yvonne and I to all that attended. Looking forward to the next one in a few weeks time at ADI international show at castle Combe.

Just because it says A2 doesn't mean it's an A2

My family and I really enjoyed the museum today, I have to say the best display was the 911 WTC piece. Quite emotional seeing it as I only seen it on the news before . Also loved the concord nose dive display it was brilliant.
