My route outline is below:

Leaving the UK: 7th June 2010 early 6AM (euro tunnel)
Arrive back: 22nd June 2010 6PM

That is 16 days, it could be longer or shorter.

Plan to visit:

- Switzerland 5 days
- Milan 1 day
- Pisa 1 day
- Rome 3 days
- Naples 1 days
- Venice 3 days
- Lake Garda 2 days

There is the spec to add a race if one is around during this time in europe, this may add a day to the trip or two.

Other places can be added.. this is only a rough idea because we need to look at the distance we are travelling and we need to have a good few days break every couple of days. It is a lot of driving and it is hot weather.

Cost of the trip (estimate):

Hotels: £1000
Fuel: £275
Crossing: £100
Food: £500

Total: £1875

Plus your own spending money.

There's a heck of a lot of driving there mate.. you thought we covered some miles this year; I think that would smash it!

My parents were in Pisa a few days ago.. apart from the tower, they didn't think much of it.

This would be a dream for me but finances are still strained
so wont be attending for the forseeable future ....Good Luck anyway ....

Going down that road and not stop at least a day at the Cinque Terre would be a mistake. Park the car in Levanto and take the train for a coin (valid whole day) and go through the five villages:

We did the trip when we bought the car and we just had to stop again a few days when going home.

Hi yes I am definately intested in a road trip across europe but I was thinking of u turning at greece after a couple of days of relaxing on the beach. There is a road ferry which goes from Bridinski in italy straight over to greece and the delightful island of Lefkada.

What do you think?

Hi Richard

I soon hope to be an A2 owner and can then take an active part in this club.

Your roadtrip sounds very exciting with a heavy slice of Italia and if you need help please ask, as I have spent a lot of time researching the country prior to buying a house down South. I am no expert but I have a host of Italian friends & contacts who are! Also if you are willing to rough it and I can convince my wife, I am sure if there are not too many we can put everyone up for an overnight stop - or longer once you taste the food & wine!

As has already been pointed out some of the big cities are not the best (excluding Rome) especially Naples - you will find your wheels gone!

Anyway if you need help, just ask.

ciao, ciao

Rob
