Sorry, I see your comment I bit late...
Finally, as already mentioned, I went a different route : a Pro Boost remap (that disables the flaps).
Cheers,

Just a little update for all those who have bought in the last week. There seems to be a big issue at the national depot for Hermes as every parcel I’ve sent this week is stuck at the sorting centre. I’m sure things will get moving soon but I just wanted to keep you all informed.

Our local Hermes delivery driver used his own Audi estate car for many years Steve but has just upgraded to a Ford Transit. He tells me it's due to the increase in the amount of parcels.

yup everything coming from Hermes for me right now is delayed at least 3 to 4 days. They need to restrict the amount being taken on to allow them to catchup otherwise they are going to lose custom for good from a lot of people...

I know they get a lot of stick, but I’ve always found them to be reliable with the 1000’s of parcels I’ve sent. I think they’ve lost 2 in all the time I’ve been using them. On the other hand I’ve used Royal Mail a handful of times and they’ve lost 3 of them.

I also find myhermes very reliable but equally royal main have never lost a single parcel of mine in the uk. They did loose one sent to the USA but I can hardly blame Royal Mail for something that clearly was lost over the pond
The Hermes delay explains why I’ve got no hook wiper arms in stock ATM

Same here Steve, the Myhermes sorting place is only two miles from me, and it's massive and employs around 200 people, they are in the process of moving to a site only up the road from where they are now, and it's three times bigger.
I've never lost a parcel either.
I blame them bloody Welsh men, ? ? ?

I’ve been holding off posting this for a few weeks hoping things would improve. I love providing the service I do to the club and the part I play in the community, but I ask for your support.

On most items I sell, I’m getting a message 2-3 days later to say that the item hasn’t arrived and what’s the update.

I think with so many people moving to home delivery through the pandemic, people have become used to the delivery services of Amazon where they seem to deliver it sometimes before you’ve even clicked the button.

I use Hermes for the majority of items sent. They are the cheapest delivery service available that’s tracked. They operate a 3-5 working day delivery service. If an item is ordered before 8pm and I’ve got it on the shelf then it’s likely that I can get it on the next days collection.

If however you order an item from me after 10pm or I need an evening to remove it then it’s going to miss the next days collection.

Let’s say for example you order and pay for a part from me on Monday night at 10pm, I’m unable to get it on Tuesdays collection as it’s missed the deadline. It will be packed on Tuesday and booked in for Wednesday. The courier will then collect Wednesday afternoon and it will enter the courier network Wednesday evening or Thursday morning. As you can see, from the day you’ve ordered the item, it’s already on day 2 or 3 before it really gets on its way. You’ve then got 3-5 working days on top of this not including sundays in an already overloaded delivery network.

It’s safe to say that if you’ve ordered an item you can expect to receive it a week later. If it comes sooner then that’s great.

I do offer quicker delivery services but they are costly and more labour intensive to arrange.

I would kindly ask that people leave it a week before chasing items. It will mean that I can get on with dispatching other orders and keeping everyone happy.

Thanks

Steve

Totally understandable Steve. Just grateful that you do send items most days. There are many out there that will only send items one day a week.

I’ve never had an item from Steve not arrive. Most arrive in well under a week, but I wouldn’t chase a none delivery for at least a week - carriers are fickle beasts.
