A2steve’s Used Parts service

It seems only a few years ago that you would wait 28 days for some deliveries, I guess I’m sounding old now.
As Steve says, we are spoiled by the likes of Amazon and expectations have changed. Having said that I recently waited two weeks for Ford Fiesta front struts to arrive from Autodoc, I think Steve beats that every time.

I would also add that Steve’s prices are low and a week to deliver a part that may take 4-5 days from a more expensive eBay seller seems a good deal to me. Fortunately I am not usually in a rush.

Thanks for the great service Steve!

Ian

I think people that use Hermes themselves are fully aware of the vagaries of the service. I personally think you provide an excellent service so please keep up the good work, we need you.

As highlighted above, your service for our Alu friends is appreciated and your always there to save the day when parts are needed in an emergency. So, a big Thank you from me Steve for your time & advices.??

Ps. I am sure you also have a life outside the A2 realm too. ???

As @AUDI2012 says, Steve is nor a business where items are off the shelf, labelled and barcoded, not only does he have a job, he also has a young family, wo A2 part removal will probably be third on his list of priorities. So a day to remove a part, box it up, go online to print a label, put it ready for collection, is in itself an undertaking that most wouldn't understand. How many times have we said to our partners...'I'll only be 5mins'...only to return 1hrs later as other requests have come through whilst in the garage?
Then to factor in the extremely low prices that Steve provides us with, I offer my cap to you, it isn't easy.
Keep up the good work, I'm sure most of us on here totally understand that the times taken for delivering parts HAS to be realistic...and a week for a part at a fraction of the dealers price is more than acceptable. You've got a fan here whatever!!!
Stay safe

I have used Steve’s services several time, great communication and quality used parts. Without his services I feel lots of us would find A2 ownership considerably harder. Thank you Steve !!!

A very nice and genuine man was nice enough to sell me a full car, even though he could of sold it for a lot more in parts, I had never meet him before at that point I have since bought several parts from him always at good prices.

Isn’t that most days in Wales!

Yes ? but it gives some lovely skies as a result

For a number of years, I have been supplying used parts the members of this club.

The venture initially started out by purchasing a tree damaged A2 from a friend, with the aim of taking it apart to better understand how the cars were built and to improve my mechanical skills (I could barely do an oil change at this point). I didn’t anticipate that what was initially started as a tinker about with a damaged A2 would turn into a fully functioning tax registered business that is very efficient in the breakdown and supply of used A2 parts, shipping items all over the world. It will never hit the FTSE100 but as a part-time business I’m proud of what it’s become and it puts a few extra quid in my pocket each month.

I’ve always based my model on 3 things, price, service and enthusiasm and sticking to these 3 principles have stood me well. 95% of my customers are repeat customers, many of whom I’ve been supplying for years.

Price - I have never charged more for an item than I would be willing to pay for it myself. Whilst this has meant that over the years I have lost thousands in potential profit, I can end each day knowing that I have helped hundreds of people.

Service – the business has essentially been running 24/7 for the last couple of years. Where else could you message for a part at 2am on a Sunday and get it shipped out on a Monday morning?

Enthusiasm – Unlike the commercial breakers, I’m actually an A2 enthusiast who has been heavily involved in the A2 scene for around 5 years. I love nothing more than seeing someone’s project A2 develop, with the joy that brings them; knowing that I’ve supplied the parts to get it there and been involved in the process.

I have been a little quiet this month in terms of the number of parts I’ve posted, but it’s simply because I’m working on a petrol A2 that deserves some love and attention before sale. Once this is out of the way, normal service shall resume.

I’ve decided to post this following the announcement from the admin team that member services can now be advertised. Any feedback I could receive from customers past and present would be most welcome.

Best wishes

Excellent guy, very helpful and parts that are much cheaper than you would otherwise get on auction sites. I am lucky living local to Steve to be able to pick up parts. Great service from Steve, which makes parts supply to A2OC an essential service.

10/10 here. Used twice, will defo use again

I just worry how the parts service will be affected with Steve being in Wales, Brexit is a nightmare?
Besides that I've had a few parts from Steve now, he's always happy to help and he removes and sends the parts very quickly, plus the parts are always as described. It's obvious he enjoys helping the club members and I think that makes all the difference. Don't change Steve you've got it spot on mate?
