A6 TDi fuel filter

All,

I'm not a member of any other car forums so I'd thought I'd ask you folk for some advice, if I may? I have as well as the little rollerskate an A6 1.9 TDI 2002, 130bhp. I'd like to change the fuel filter myself, it has a metal cartridge with a few tubes coming out the top. Once the new unit is fitted (filled with fresh diesel?) does the system self bleed?

Thank you,

Blue Two.

The filter sounds very similar to the one used on early model A2 TDi's. When I change mine I don't even fill the filter with diesel and the system has always self primed.

In a similar vein, I've had a few PM's from one hit wonders recently and spent ages composing replies, only to find that if you don't respond within an hour or two they don't bother visiting the site again. All very annoying
