ABS and traction control lights on after changing wishbones no codes showing

Hi, changed both my wishbones last week and a day later the ABS ,traction control and red brake warning lights came on and there are no codes showing when checked. Any ideas please?

Can you give us a few more bits of info that may aid diagnosis based on our own experiences - firstly which is the engine in the car? Are all of your brake light bulbs the correct type and intact? Do you get a crackle on the radio as you press the brake pedal? Any other info about your A2 (year, model, specification, options etc.?)

I should stress that I'm not an expert but have encountered the above periodically and in searches for related questions some of the above issues have been discussed. I'm sure someone with more expertise will be along soon. Very best of luck!

Did the dash lights you mention, come on, and stay on, or just come on for a short time then clear?
Are they on when you start the car, or only after driving?
What scan tool are you using?

wheel speed sensors??? Well someone has to state the obvious given recent work on wishbones! Guess they would throw a code though.

You only get a fault code, when there's a fault. If the condition that is bringing dash lights on is real, that is something the ESP controller sees as a potentially dangerous situation, then that is not a fault. It is the ESP, and/or the ABS controllers doing their job.

Can happen if the air gap is too great but did you disturb the front wheel speed sensors, wouldn't have thought so?

I was more thinking the Speed sensor wire might have got yanked on while "wrestling" with the wishbones. invisible externally but wire cracked or pulled out of socket internally.

When you say there are no codes. Are you using a quality VAG or VCDS scanner and not a garbage generic one?

Hi, the 2 yellow lights stay on after starting the car and the central red brake sign comes on and beeps 3 times when 5 mph is reached. All 3 stay on after that One of the scan tools was a recent snap on tools and another of them cost a mate 4 grand with 1500 quid a year for updates. Both found faults mainly with the AC which has never worked and were deleted

I think a dodgy wire would trigger a fault code, and I'm surprise that there are none. Important to know the type of scan tool used.
