actual weight?

I had the opportunity recently to drop the FSI onto a weighbridge... I was somewhat surprised to see the weight come in at bang on 1100 kg!

The fizzy does have some bits added to the spec, which will inevitably add to the weight.

Double DIN dash
Electric lumbar
Full Bose
Tank was about half full (say 20 kg of fuel)
4 seater
17" sport wheels (they'll be exchanged for pepperpots when I can reclaim them from my lad's car!)

No open sky, rear electric windows, spare wheel or any other extraneous bits that I can immediately think of...

Has anyone else weighed their car? Just curious to see if the actual weights are generally higher than advertised!!

Hi Andy

That's interesting - I didn't think to look there! I always had the parkers specifications figure in mind, which says 995 kg. So it seems that mine isn't as overweight as I thought it was!

1.4 petrol is 990kg so close enough, 1.4 diesel 1090kg and the TDI90 1105kg.

As you say petrol in tank and does the Bose kit in boot weigh a bit and grime!

Mass in Service. Part G on the registration document on one of my 90's says 1198kg. I think that might allow 70kg for a driver but happy to be corrected.
