Advice on modifications for the A2 - Suspension, Exhaust and Air filters

Hi there,

After a bit of a pause to the A2 love affair I've been tinkering with my 'Project Noir' for the last few weeks. I've refurbed the wheels a few weeks ago and been giving her regular cleans.

I feel like I want to make some changes to the car to scratch an itch of having a modified car since being a teenager. I'd like to ask for advice on routes for lowering the suspension changing the backbone exhaust/system and possibly put a aftermarket induction kit in it. not necessarily for performance but to make it look and sound a bit sportier and put an even bigger smile on my face when I drive it.

I'm not too clued up on what the routes of lowering suspension is, and the pro's on cons for each of them. and with that said, if there is even and induction kit that can be put in to the Audi A2. I'll keep all the stuff I take out just incase I do't like it down the line but staying OEM is not really important to me.

Any help, advice and guidance most welcome.

On suspension a good place to start is here, it is not just a parts list but a lot of real life discussion on various options.

I can't remember which member it was down south who got a good stainless exhaust built somewhere around Bristol that seriously perked up a 1.4i . @Teresa I think had a ride in it? Very disappointed it is about 400 miles south of where I live because I'd go for an exhaust like that in a trice if it was local.

@steve_c / infinity exhausts - A2oc search does work after all

The exhaust remains absolutely excellent. I'll be updating my report on it soon by way of marking the anniversary of its installation, and reflecting on the options I didn't take (but maybe wish I had).

I'd be very interested to read your experiences! Sorry to OP for slight thread swerve.

For upgrades and other option its worth looking on the Polo/Lupo/Golf forums as the youffs seem to spend countless hours and many pounds modding their cars and although not A2 specific a lot of the parts could be used or modified to fit...of course what you do to your car will be to suit your needs and budget. Sadly as many will attest there's not a lot to do to make petrol engine cars much faster, diesels of course can be remapped to give a good power hike plenty of info here about that.
