There's a little more in the ecomodder thread.

It's far more professional looking than the usual ecomodder stuff (typically 2nd hand correx sheeting, plywood, pizza-base wheeltrims, etc).

Hi it uses the fragile studs and pressed steel flange nuts that hold the upper cover on. The studs are soft so give them a good soaking of releasing agent. hope that helps mike

Regarding aero components, there are now other alternatives from the various BlueMotion vehicles which cover the back end of the underneath of the car. I don't know which of these might fit the A2.

I've tried to extract part numbers from the thread, but beware, I don't know if they match up to the picture or if they'd fit the A2 in any case. Has anybody got an EKTA diagram for the Polo BlueMotion / Golf Bluemotion underbody stuff?

2a & 2b: Rear arm covers from Audi TT

left side: 1K0 511 539 E 5,12 € Stone chip Guard £5.37
right side: 1K0 511 540 C 5,30 € Stone Chip Guard £6.75
8E0 825 267 0,44 € 4 x spreader rivet £0.12 (need 4 so x4)

2 x 1K0 609 734 C brake cable clamp
2 x N 102 854 02 bolt

The following 2 cover the arm the suspension spring is sitting in
Stone guard track control arm 1k0 511 533 D left side
Stone guard track control arm 1k0 511 534 D right side

4 in the picture:
Rear axle cover ("Verkleidung Hinterachse" = "Hinterachsverkleidung") from Golf TDI bluemotion
1k0 501 713 D Trim for Rear Axle £26.73
1K0 501 682 (fixings?) Retaining bracket £1.89
N905 483 05 (fixings?) retaining bolt 47p
N901 838 02 (fixings?) retaining bolt £1.63

Or alternatively the version from the BlueMotion Passat which looks more impressive but is less likely to fit:
Covers rear suspension
3C0 501 713 A Verkleidung fuer Hinterachse

3 in the picture:
"rear muffler deflector" - comes from TDI bluemotion
Maybe one of these is the 'number 3', don't know which one
1K0 825 206 A - Unterbodenverkleidung links hinten
N 909 707 02 - Schnappmutter 2 x
WHT 000 713 - Sechskantbundmutter (2 x ??)
1K0 825 221 - Winkel bracket
N 905 483 03 - Sechskantbundschraube M8
N 901 838 02- Sechskantbundmutter selbstsichernd
N 908 338 01 - Spreizmutter

Possibly 1a & 1b from the picture?? Or they might be bigger stand-alone humps.
'humps' (deflectors) protect axle against stones etc, standard on the BlueMotion
Extra lumps 1K0 825 001 B x1
1K0 825 002 B x1
N 909 591 01 fixing kit x4
N 103 546 02 fixing kit x10

Are any of the Aero parts still available to buy? And I've seen a price list somewhere on the forums of the exhaust tunnel cover, winglets, subframe spoiler and all the rivets and bolts to attach. And it came to about £60. is this about right?

I know the exhaust tunnel cover is still available, because I want one and A2Cars usually keeps some in stock. I'd imagine the total price has gone up though. Best bet would be to give your local Audi dealer a call and speak to the parts department. Some dealers can be a bit funny about revealing part numbers (no idea why), but they are usually willing to confirm part numbers if you have them to hand, because it makes their job easier.

Bringing up a old but interesting thread.

Did any one take on the task of making a rear end under tray / cover?

If any one has please post what work you carried out and pictures of course.

Ross

Has he? I’ll give him a message in sometime this week
I will make totally smooth undertray setup for my A2 and try to make it a somewhat bolt on kit type of thing. That link above is my friends a2.

There is also a smooth hubcaps (flat) already available and grill blocks. Convex hubcaps will come later more if there is enough interested people to buy them.

However the problems with these aero parts are that its not good business to me ship them around europe just one box at a time. Best solution would be that I could send bigger set somewhere and then someone sends them forward. Reason is that shipping is pretty expensive from Finland and also I value my time a lot. Just to make one package shipping ready usually takes about half an hour of work. Just that makes 25€ of cost plus the shipping and fuel to take it post, and the packaging material etc. So normal part price more than doubles what the just parts would cost.

There will also come printable/printed door mirrors later.

Been reading up a lot of the ideal height of the A2 for aero purposes....there seems to be a line of thought that if the bottom of a vehicle is super smooth then raising it can be advantageous....but I've recently read that the A2 3L is lower than the standard A2..I'm more inclined to trust Audis' findings so my intention is to drop her to A2 3L height...whatever that is..not in a rush to do this yet though

Optimum height is 50mm ground clearance aerodynamic drag wise so lower you go the better if you can still use the car. So for this purpose put or build air suspension, so you can raise at the city etc.

thanks for reply, do you have any pictures of the work you have carried out, then maybe we could get some kind of list going if people are interested..?
