Aftermarket Headunit

Good luck getting that lot behind the HU, I think i’d be looking to get my soldering iron out and refining that a bit.

I would also wrap those connectors in felt tape to reduce the possibility of rattles.

I’ll that on board Ian, the headunit is double din screen but single din chassis so will leave space

There’s a Dennison unit in the back somewhere, I’ll need to remove air con control panel, at least to get to it.

Couldn’t you bypass the Bose amps and drive all the speakers with headunits own amps?

Thanks OldSchool, the problem is the unit didn’t power on at all, so I’ve no idea if the amp will work correctly with the the harness.
When I next have time I’ll check that there’s a good earth as Audifan has suggested.

This is a no no using the HU to drive the Bose speakers as the Bose speakers are a very low impedance. Do double check your HU spec but I’ve never seen a HU that will cover the range for the Bose speakers
Now if you change the speakers to the std A2 none Bose speakers then the HU will drive the speakers but you will also have to wire the speakers to the HU directly I.e. bypass the Bose amp. Plus you would then loose the sub

I would be wiring in the HU to feed the Bose amp and leave the speakers as Bose speakers and all the wiring as std Bose
