Air bag

My air bag light has receently come on yet i have had no bumps to the bumper, do not want my dealer tocheck the car over has they will charge an arm and a leg. Any idea what can be causing the problem and can I simply take the fuse out of the socket so that i do not get disturbed with the red light on the dash ?

hi Rob,

The light is also used to indicate problems with the airbag system itself. As its a key safety feature, I wouldn't hesitate in seeking specialist support from your dealer. Your right about them charging a arm and a leg, however when it comes to safety features personally I wouldn't think twice about it.

When the light is on, all airbags and seatbelt tensioners are not functioning btw.
