Air con / climate staying hot ?

First prob in a year ? heater staying on hot ..dial it down to 19 degrees Still hot ..any ideas ?..having to switch on ...when car to hot turn it off ?..does anything come to mind folks ??

Could be heater flap servo motor failed (was in mine) . Scan will tell you more. Mine was code 1809, V158 Servo Motor.
Flap stays fully open, so you get just air from heater matrix, no cool air to mix with it, so no temp control.
Happy days!

My local indie did mine, I believe the set up, once the new servo is fitted, is the hard bit. Remove glove box to access it. Servo, £150 from Audi. Took him about 2 hours, but he's done it before (he runs an A2 as a courtesy car).

Funny I remember now it was like it when I bought the car but it corrected itself ..now it’s hot all the time again ..is it worth trying s/h part or not with the labour work the involved ..£150 steep for a small motor ...

Could be the flap itself (fluff buildup). If the car is not your daily, have a look first. There are suggestions that the servo can be taken apart and fixed ...
I didn't do mine, but because of where it is located, you'd not want to do it twice I think.

Hi i’ve just been for a run in the car cycling it up and down worked and it was ok ? got to the garage plug-in diagnostics yes there was a code there for flap motor ...but cleared code it’s working fine cold air ...hot air ...its Sally’s daily so it gets used every day ..but sally leaves temp on 22 ..I have asked her to cycle it now and again ..summer she does not have it on as she hates air con..thanks everyone.

Interestingly enough I had this same issue (and it said there were flap issues too). I then did some further research and discovered that there is a little fan in the climate panel and it is prone to failure. I didn't investigate further, but I did change the whole panel out with another one (as part of another upgrade) and voila all fixed and no issues since!

Not sure if this may help you also, but worth a try if you have a spare unit handy?

James.

Fine if you have a spare climate unit but easy enough to take current climate out, remove cover, unscrew liittle fan and clean blades. You would never believe how clogged up with fluff they become. Also an oppurtunity to give the associated small vent on the fascia a good clean, looks so much better.

In Jun-2014 I had an issue with the climate control running too hot. Fault code:
01271 Positioning motor for temperature flap (V68) 41-10 Blocked or No Voltage - Intermittent.

I’m not saying yours and mine were the same issue.
Mine needed:
. air con compressor
. V68 control flap motor
. re-gas
In total cost me roughly £550 (inc VAT).

We suspect the air con compressor may have been collateral damage from a front-end impact. The list price at Audi for that part alone was £650; thankfully Rob Womersley had a used one for a fraction of that.

I bought a brand new spare compressor years ago tucked away in the garage somewhere ( it was cheap on e bay ) ?

I've got all sorts of bits dotting around, it's amazing how much *stuff* you pickup. I'm just glad that in this case I used some of it before I gave it away, done that so many times "yeah sure, just take it, I'll never use it", next week "drat, where's that do-hickey - ahhhhh I gave it away!" ?‍♂️
