Alarm led not flashing

Last thing at night I let the hound out for his last mooch of the day & I noticed the alarm led on the drivers door wasn't flashing at all. Unlocking/locking with the key fob set things right & sure enough it was still flashing first thing this morning.

All I can think is that I forgot to lock the car when I last used it so after 60 secs it automatically locks itself (as it should) but does it not arm the alarm in this case?

If you unlock the car then open any of the doors (and drive it...or don't...) it won't ever lock itself; it's only if you don't open a door that the car will lock itself.

UKP is absolutely correct, if you unlock and don't open the doors it will relock after a delay.
If you unlock then open a door, no relock!

Andy,

The above comments regarding opening of the doors aren’t necessarily 100% correct.
If the door you open has an issue with the micro switch, then the CCCU won’t know the door has been opened, and therefore will still auto-lock.
A failing CCCU might also have the same effect.

Faulty door lock micro-switches seem to be one of the reasons some get caught out with the keys getting locked in the car.

However, the most likely cause for your original issue is............forgetfulness

Ha......We're all getting older.

Cheers
