All-Alloy Intercooler Group Order - 2020

Hello fellow A2OCers,

Tomorrow marks the end of this order phase. If anyone is sitting on the fence, now is the time to make a firm decision. :)

Cheers,

Tom

Those who are waiting on their ProAlloy intercooler will be delighted to know that the order has been received and manufacturing is about to commence. :)

The final figure includes a small surplus. For those who might regret not ordering a ProAlloy intercooler, or whose original intercooler fails next month, worry not; the option is still there.

Cheers,

Tom

Tom, what's the estimated ready date on these please?
Hi Ian,

I've been in touch with the manufacturer. Unfortunately, the guy who's managing the production of the A2 intercoolers is on holiday, so I haven't been able to get an estimated completion date yet. I hasten to add that manufacturing has not ceased, so progress is still being made.

As an aside, I'm acutely aware that I owe you and various others replies to PMs. I'm doing my best to keep on top of the work as well as the messages, but I thank you for your continued patience. :)

Cheers,

Tom

Hello good people of A2OC,

This evening, I am sailing to France, and then heading to the Alps tomorrow morning. Mountaineering often means prolonged periods without internet access, so it's likely that I'll be fairly quiet on the forum for the next fortnight or so.

The manufacturer has suggested that the latest batch of Pro Alloy intercoolers will be completed during my time away. Once I get back to the UK, it will be my first priority to get these distributed to their owners.

Pro Alloy apologise that manufacturing has not been as quick as first anticipated. Due to Covid-19, they've struggled with their supply of raw materials, which has affected their lead times.

Best wishes to all,

Tom

Are these going to be available again?
Hello,

There is a batch currently being manufactured, and distribution will begin as soon as I am back in the UK (I'm currently in the Dolomites, in northern Italy, but will be home within a week or so). There are a few spare intercoolers in this batch, meaning you haven't missed the opportunity.

Cheers,

Tom

Hello folks,

Having been in the Alps for the last fortnight, I got home yesterday to find a collection of lovely new ProAlloy intercoolers in my hallway. Sending these to their rightful owners is my first priority; you've all waited long enough.

Prior to going to the Alps, I was based in Leighton Buzzard, at @Proghound's house, for two weeks. The schedule was packed, with 1 to 4 A2s arriving on the driveway every day. As such, plenty of private messages that have arrived within the last month or so have yet to be answered. Rest assured, you're not being ignored, and I shall do my best to get replies to everyone over the coming week.

As a chatty addendum, I had a great time working on A2s in the South East and my time in the Alps was utterly wonderful. I am, however, absolutely exhausted and need to have a few quiet days to settle back into life at home. Whilst in the Alps, I climbed (and descended) a total of 12,533 vertical metres in 12 days, which is equivalent to climbing from sea level to the summit of Everest 1.4 times. The experiences are still fresh in my mind, but my body needs a rest.

Warm regards to all,

Tom

Here's a photo that I took from the summit of Gran Paradiso (The Great Paradise), the highest mountain wholly within Italy, at 4061m. Grivola dominates the scene. On the horizon, from left to right, you can see the Mont Blanc massif, the Grandes Jorasses, the Grand Combin, the Weisshorn, the Matterhorn (the perfect triangle in the middle of the right-hand half of the photo) and Monte Rosa.
