All or nothing acceleration 1.6 fsi

Hi, my 2003 fsi ( Boxy A2) has hesitant acceleration up to 2800 rpm, then it takes of like its hit vtec/ Turbo boost. No engine lights, idles fine. Is this the throttle body ? Also I can feel quite a bit of vibration through the pedals and steering wheel, but no engine shunting / rocking. Could this be worn engine mounts or some other bushings ?
Any pointers gratefully received.
Cheers, Andy

I had a similar hesitancy at lowish revs on my FSI, no errors on VCDS, no warnings etc.
It had had two coil packs replaced before I bought it, and although it had FSH, plugs were due for change at next service.
I replaced the remaining two coil packs (all Bosch now) and the plugs (NGK).
The hesitancy is gone, mpg is up by about 5%, and the power delivery is more flexible across the rev range. All round, a good result.
Hope this helps.
Mac.

Hi Mac, thanks for the reply. I’ve just had a full service including all filters and 1 coil. I may just bite the bullet and buy 4 Bosch coil packs, as it’s cheaper than a throttle body.
Cheers , Andy

Yes, buy a new Ignition Coil pack (Bosch), new Spark Plugs (Bosch) and just as a safety do a Throttle Body Calibration if you have VCDS. When doing that, just reset the ECU by unplugging the battery leads and maintaining the Ground and Positive leads together for about 10 seconds.
