Has anyone carried out an engine transplant into an FSI? I’m not looking for much more power. Apologies if there’s a thread on this i
already, I‘ve had a search but maybe I‘be missed it.

Hi, what a brilliant thread. The Lupo engine sounds like a great option. I’m fine with the mechanicals of the engine swap but did it all match up with the FSI ECU?
Thank you

George

There is less than a 1000 Lup’s left so I would just get the fsi rebuilt especially if it is a low mileage car. And of course one of the Probosst devices?????????

The Golf 1.6 BCB engine has been used a few times in the 1.4 too. I'm not sure how different the wiring loom is between the 2 but its an option I would think.

@den's a2 is in the middle of putting a 1.6 Golf engine in his white 1.4 votex A2 at present I believe. Perhaps he can help with info?

It’s 122k and currently all ok, but I’ve got 2 CS FSIs and that’s enough for me. I should probably sell this one on and concentrate on the other two and the Tdis!

Thank you, I’ll have a chat. It’s the electrics/ECU issues that concern me most Steve

BCB and AVY would both need rewiring as the ecu is a different brand the plugs are the same however it’s not a small job.

Thank you, it clearly needs electronic guru status. Above my pay grade!

I wouldn’t say it does, you just need to be dedicated and take your time. I learnt all the skills as I went, learning how to read VW wiring diagrams is a must.
