Am I missing something?

Good morning,

As I am currently in the process of preparing my little Annie for a move to the continent, I thought it would be a good idea to request the Certificate of Conformity which I will need at some stage in the process. I searched online and found the relevant page on the Audi UK website. I sent the email last Thursday and received a reply this morning with a scan of the original document. The original will be sent out by mail and should arrive later this week. So all in all, it took about a week and will have been free of charge (as far as I know...)

In my curiosity, I looked online for examples of such a Certificate of Conformity and in doing so I found this website. They are basically offering this service for ... €142.80 o_O

Two things come to mind. I will either receive a bill from Audi for the CoC (unlikely), or this EuroCoC company is seriously profiteering from people...

Maybe there is a third option?

Any thoughts are welcome

It’s free from Audi, definitely. You'll get the CoC, and a covering letter confirming the Euro class. It's not on the CoC, because Euro class did not become mandatory till 2005/06.
At least, that's what I got for my FSI.
Buy shares in EuroCoC.

Or start my own company charging half of what they do. I'll be a millionaire in no time :)
 
Over here, through the official way, the first CoC per A2 is free, 2nd, 3rd etc. copies are ~75€ so maybe this service is just doing a one price fits all? ?

Got the one for my red A2 through the official channel for free years ago, while it says 75€ for my yellow A2, so some previous owner evidently had it sent to them then proceeded to lose it. ?

I see, but their 'premium' is still bonkers though.
 
I sent off for COC's for my Tdi and FSI earlier this year. Really good prompt response from Audi, and no bill.
At least this service is one thing they can do right!

I missed news of the arrival of your second A2, congratulations. Are there photos here? Meantime, here is your misano with our imola on Skye(probably the least picturesque photo it is possible to take while on Skye). :)

Thinking about it, EuroCoC will have all the ingredients for a scam. Name, Address, Reg Number, VIN, Credit Card details etc.

Just in case useful to anyone reading this thread. I am in Spain and contacted Audi UK for the COC for my A2 I imported from Germany. After a waiting 2 weeks they came back to tell me they couldn’t help me and didn’t offer any other ideas. I was nearly tempted to use one of the many websites you find online charging extortionate prices to provide the same - Then I found the VAG link below where you can also request it. Finally a week later this was delivered to my house free of any charge.
