AMF engine from skoda fabia?

Hi folks,

Does anyone know if there are any issues with using an AMF skoda fabia engine in place of the original Audi AMF engine in my 2002 tdi? Is it a straight swap?

cheers nod

Most other bits should just swap over. I doubt the mounts are the same and possibly the inlet and exhaust manifolds are different. Chance some of the electrics are in a different place or different connectors. Sorry do not have access to parts catalogue to check.. May be worth asking on the German site is someone has already done the swap and any issues found. @bretti_kivi is usually very knowledgeable and can point you in the right direction.

These comments relate to a petrol engine swap but should also apply to a TDi swap -

Cheers Spike

Thanks Spike, Having read the thread, I guess I'm ok with the Fabia AMF engine, but may have to swap some of the ancillaries and possibly the backplate for the gearbox mounting. cheers nod.

Can't speak to the Fabia, but mine's got a Polo AMF in it now, which I was led to believe was a straight swap by the garage who did it for me.
