An Audi at last!

Hi

Wee intro.
Live in the far north west, check out HS20SW if you want to see just where!
Maybe the most nor-westerly member?

Wanted an Audi since I loved the 5000 range (as it was known) in a South Africa as a kid, esp the turbo. Just so sleek.
Just got my a2, so plenty to learn.

Also a bit of a classic enthusiast (again more with mags and interest than any actual experience). Really do think the A2 will soon be accepted in that way.
But my dream classic would be an NSU Ro80, so was chuffed to find out that the A2 was built at the old NSU site in Neckarsulm. One step closer...

Anyway, great site, good to be here. Thanks.

Welcome to the club! :) I should think you're probably right about the furthest north-west, possibly also the remotest?

There was quite a large gathering of A2's on Skye a month or so back, possibly the highest concentration ever seen there. We got up as far north as Uig. Hopefully that trip will be repeated in a couple of years and you'd be more than welcome to join us :)

Do post up about your A2 and how it fares out in the wilds.

Welcome. Great to see a Leodhasach on the friendly forum. ??

My mums family are from an Grais but not been over for a few years now. Enjoy your fab motor. And as Ian says there's a great social scene although a big trek for you! Not so expensive to join us if you like now there is RET (Road equivelant tarrif for the non islanders) with Calmac.

Welcome - you'll get loads of good advice here.
We weren't too far from you at the beginning of this week, got as far north as Inverewe Gardens which was definitely worth visiting.

A moderator called Murdo! Had to have Lewis connections!
Thanks to all who replied. Very much impressed by the welcome and help.

Absolutely. Named for Murdo Graham of Gress my great grandad.. My pride in this heritage only slightly diminished by the notorious lineage that is linked to the nearby village of Tong.

Welcome :)

Pop some pictures of your A2 up when you get chance. It's an exciting time right now being on the cusp of classic status :)

Murdo

Lol! My wife is a Back girl so the Tong prejudice runs deep in our home too...

Muska

Think I did post a few snaps last night, silver a2, reg AX04. Still finding my way around so not sure where they’ve gone...

The pics are in the your gallery. Nice car. You need to link them to the thread for people to see then as part of this intro. I see you have an S Max too which is likely our next family car. I'll private message you sometime for some real world feedback on the motor.

It’s a Galaxy, not S-Max, but from the b-pillars forward it’s virtually identical. Message anytime if you want info.

Welcome aboard indeed. Nice intro and a nice A2.

Great community spirit and camaraderie here. Most things are likely to be covered on the forum. Shout if you can't find something - Google search plus 'a2oc' can be better than the forum search sometimes.

I've added your pictures to your opening post.

Gumtree, trader selling it just outside Manchester.
Do you know the car?
Not specifically though the plate looked familiar. I tend to keep a close eye on A2 sales, probably too close, we've got five though two are due to leave this year.

Welcome to the A2OC the best forum ever :)

Please upload some pictures of your little A2 when you get a chance :)
