Android auto + parking sensors + rear camera. Am i asking for too many things?

Hi! First of all, thank you for this forum. I am addicted to it. I am one month old in the A2 world and my wife already wants to divorce me ?
I couldn't find the answers of this question on the forum that is why I open this thread.
Does anybody knows about a "radio" with android auto that could be compatible with parking sensors and rear camera?

I am so used i to use the bipping and the camera in the other car that now I feel very naked on the A2. And I DO NOT WANT to scratch it ?

I know that a lot of members want to keep it as original as possible, but the Audi A2 i own doesn't have the original radio. So that change will not make a big difference to the asthetics of the car.

I've seen good options like tablets but i would like to install something permanent.

Muchas gracias!

You are correct many like originality. You have not said if the unit currently fitted is a single DIN or double DIN unit as this will govern what you can fit, unless you have the dash modified for a double DIN unit.

You can get a rear camera that connects to your phone to display the view cheap.

For single DIN limited to something like this...

For the parking sensors you could either upgrade your cars rear bumper with the parking sensors and have the rest of the Audi system retrofitted, or buy a stand alone aftermarket kit.

I just checked the pictures on you other thread and it is indeed a single DIN dash. So its either a radio like I suggested above ( with a camera ), a separate wifi camera that connects to your phone and hopefully an adapter or lead to connect to your radio and either a stand alone parking sensor kit or upgraded existing bumper and Audi parts.

For double DIN there are more options including Audi RSN-E with parking sensors and adapter for your phone or a double DIN android unit, again parking sensors would have to be added in some form or other.

Sph10 bt does some of this and has decent DSP built in. Rear sensors are waiting for me to fit them.
I understand the desire for a camera, having bumped my superb despite it having sensors - they simply didn't see the towball of the car in front ..

Thanks for the answer @audifan
I have one Din radio and an empty space at the bottom. Could i move down the climate control system down to the empty space and try to install a 2 DIN radio.

The single DIN you recommended is like the ones you could buy from amazon, right? I bought one many years ago for my a 2006 golf i had and the radio reception was not as good as the original. So i am not sure about buying a chinese radio.
But i think is a food aolution if the screen folds in.
I need to find out if i can install park sensors that also beep.
Thank you so much for you help

Technically yes, but it's nowhere near as easy as it sounds from your question. The double-DIN units (at least, the OEM ones) require a metal cage fixed inside the dashboard to support them. You either need to swap the whole dashboard for a double-DIN one with the cage, or at least take it out to fit the cage if you can get one separately - it only goes in from behind. Either job will be no small undertaking! You will also need to get the climate unit with the rounded lower corners to go in the lower position, or cut/sand down your current one to fit.

Something like this for the parking sensors. Again as with the radio it is not a recommendation just to give some idea what is available or what to look for...

Although not OEM the components could quite easily be hidden to make a neat install if going the diy route.

If you do your own searches from Spain would be better to avoid any problems with customs etc.

Hi @Proghound ,
You are right ?
I thought it was pretty easy but i've been looking for a doble DIN dash, for a metal cage and for a bottom climate for all this days and i couldn't find anything. Maybe this is why a lot of owners keep it like original. I cannot believe how difficult is to find those parts. Same thing with the 17 inch sport rims, i cannot find them anywhere....
I believe that @bretti_kivi 's option is the best until i find the parts.
Great forum! Thanks for everything

I have converted two single din dashboards to double din and fitted Xtrons Android units. Its is fiddly, but if you are keen then it is do-able DIY.

Yes, I did a full thread on it. Just search by my user name, it was around 2018 from memory.

Morning Ian,

I guess this is the thread in question:

@Amazze the above thread should give you a very good insight to what’s involved.

Kind regards,

Tom
