I have posted my problems with our A2 (Silver, 1.4 Petrol, Manual, Open Sky: bought new in 2001, 106,000miles to date) in the past and had fantastic help. This web site is truly outstanding for the user friendly funtionality and, more importantly, the quality of the advice and experience of the contributors. And it is free which is just what you need when you are in the throes of a melt down because you car won't work (or in my case you can't get into it).
We have had yet another example of how great is the advice available through the web site this last couple of days. I did not post a new thread but searched my problem through the archive. In this case the driver's window would not close completely and then would neither open nor close: just sat there, fixed, solid and lifeless.
Put the topic into the A2OC search window and lo and behold I am not alone. So I did what others have tried and found successful ..... I disconnected the battery for 10/15 minutes, I even had time to read on the various threads why the problem can occur and why this fixes it: reconnected the battery and the window works. As the front windows had been a bit temperamental in the last months (or is it years) going up and then opening half way, repeatedly until you have conned, persuaded or tired it out and then it might close bit by bit to the top. So I Mr Sheen'ed the window channels and the windows worked like they did when the car was new: down at the touch of the switch, up at the touch of the switch: open when I unlock the car: close when I lock the car. Not quite so good today but maybe another Mr Sheen will do the trick.
But it is all working.
We loved the car when we first bought it and we still love it. It is fast and tight to drive. It is showing it's age but it is still a pleasure to drive and looks great. We get the odd warning light come on for no apparent reason (engine management system) but it tends to go off and stay off if I drive past an Audi Dealer and it costs a bit to keep it going but still less than the depreciation on a new(ish) car. My local Audi Dealer (Portsmouth Audi) is helpful but not cheap. I have not found an alternative in this area (Hampshire/West Sussex).
Without this website we would have been driven to distraction and spent a lot of money getting a fix through Audi.
So Thanks to everyone for all that experience & help.
We have contributed (modestly I know) and would urge other users to do the same.
It really is like having a friendly, enthusiastic expert neighbour available when you need one.

It's great that you value the A2OC forum. Keeping it free ensures it benefits as many as possible. However there are costs and if you wish to make a donation, however small, it it always appreciated.

It's great to read this sort of feedback. Particularly from long standing members who may not be regular posters. It makes investing time into our community all the more rewarding.
