Anti role bar

Hi people

Trying to order the new anti role bar to replace my original one.

Thing is there is a couple that come up on ETKA, so im just wondering which one i need?

My A2 is a 1.4 TDi and is 03 model.

Cheers John

becuase mine is an original one, which had the plastic locating bits, which were known to break off, and then allow the bar to move.

My ARB keeps shifting and banging on the chassis so i need to get the new one which has metal locators welded onto the bar!!

I'll repeat myself - the new 6q0 rubber bushes should stop this and you ought not to need to replace the ARB at all. Dealer said so, right? And fitting is a several hour job as the front subframe needs to be dropped, so you can talk of £3-400 fitted as opposed to £10 for the bushes and two hours' work to replace them yourself. If it doesn't work, then you've lost little.
go have a quick read: http://www.a2oc.net/forum/showthread.php?t=8646

No Bretti - I said so, as John has, as far as I know, already tried the new bushes.

As long as the subframe position is marked, the work will take no more than an hour or so on a lift and costs will be minimised.

I hear what you're saying about the new bushes, but I think John's already been down this road, so the new design of ARB is the best bet.

Cheers,

Mike

hi bret

yer as mike says i have been down the new bushing route, in fact two lots now and its made no difference.

The bar keeps shifting to the leftside and then everytime you go ove a little bump it knocks on the chassis!!!

Hi John
You may already know but there are various sizes of bushes for the Polo roll bar and the smaller dia (16mm I think) bushes should clamp the bar very tightly and prevent sideways movement. Several members have used these with total success. Not sure why your car should be different

Cheers Spike

do you have an order number for these spike??

im not sure which ones i have tried, prob the standard ones for the A2, although the second set i had put on by a friend and when they went on they were very tight, but its still managed to shift
