Anyone able to help with a quick VCDS scan near Edinburgh?

Checked the free scan register section of the Diagnostics forum, only one Member registered across Scotland, thought I’d ask to see if anyone specifically local can help. 1.6 FSI Sport, has the EML on for NO sensor (local garage confirmed when serviced couple of months ago) which I’m planning to fix with a ProBoost remap at some point, but the EPC light has started to show intermittently so thought I should investigate that. Thanks in advance.

Morning,

I’m not based up near Edinburgh but am returning home (Leicestershire) this evening from Elgin.

I’ll be heading from Elgin along the A95 to the A9 and normally head to the M80 at Perth. I could however head to the M90 and take the east coat route home.

As for departure time, I’ll be setting off around 1900 and not sure exactly what time I’ll be passing Edinburgh and where best to meet up. I’m sure there would be a services where we could meet up for a quick scan.

If you’re up for a late evening scan then move to PM and swap phone numbers and I can share my location with you via WhatsApp when I set off. That way you’ll have a pretty good idea of when I’m near.

Failing that there must be more members up here with full VCDS who will jump in and assist.

Kind regards,

Tom

Tom,

Thanks for the kind offer, I’ve been tied up with work today and only now looked again online, forgive any apparent rudeness, will have missed the chance to catch you before you left. In daylight I might have taken you up but probably not ideal for either of us late and in the dark, certainly not sensible to arrange now as you’ll be driving. That’s a proper trip you’re doing, by the way, safe travel, and thanks again.

No desperate hurry for this from any others, A2 is a third car for local trips, probably a contributory factor in the dashboard lighting up!

Morning James,

No problem at all. I set off an hour earlier but did pull into the services before the option of the quicker route to Edinburgh presented itself to see if you had replied.

I’m sure someone will help you out when you’re ready.

Yes, Elgin to Coalville is some journey, certainly when my work is only Monday to Thursday every week.

Kind regards,

Tom

You do that every week? Respect. Used to commute Edinburgh to Birmingham for a while, planes trains and automobiles, hard yards any which way.

Only commuted this for the last 3 weeks. All finished up in Elgin for now.

Very happy with Project OEM though as it didn’t miss a beat over the last 3 weeks/3200 miles.

Kind regards,

Tom
