at 14k plus options its quite tempting for such a nice car.
but how to spec it?

Im already At black with all the safety options but £700 quid for a sunroof is a bit hefty

Yes. I have a loaded TSI, minus roof as I concur, couldn't wait for the GTI launch. I have driven it and it is fairly rapid. The induced engine note through the speakers adds to the 3-pot thrum and is addictive. The 90 TSI is great, agile and nimble, the GTI slightly better again riding on uprated suspension and having a 6 speed box.

Be prepared for the 40 plus week wait, yes you are reading correct, or pay an inflated dealer demonstrator price - popularity not always a good thing it seems.

Cheers.

There are two for immediate delivery, just not quite what I want
If you want anything factory built demand is outstripping supply. I can only get down to £750 discount so far...

Have you got details on the two for immediate delivery?
I specced mine as a 3 door silver with black roof but wait is silly and I’m not completely convinced.

They are cracking wee cars but not without their drawbacks. The seats are standard Up seats so there’s no real bolstering or shape to them, and the back rest angle is by incremental clicks of a lever rather than infinitely adjustable by wheel. The steering wheel phone controls are purely cosmetic - they don’t actually do anything. You don’t get one touch windows and the window switches don’t illuminate. The locking fuel cap is by key in the cap itself. Coming from an A2 these things could annoy you.

On the plus side they do look pretty cool and go very well with a lovely willing little three pot motor. Quite roomy up front, less so in the back. As a long term prospect they’re likely to hold their value well - just look at the values of the Lupo GTI if you can find a nice clean one.

If it still sounds like the car for you then go for it provided you can actually find one in stock or don’t mind waiting forever for a factory order

Coming from a sport TDi the Seats are Comfortable,I had to raise a seat to get best seating as the Wheel doesn't reach only lift, also a reasaon to spec the seat on the passenger side to match
The steering Call button is one button, so no Biggie for me as I have an A2 and dont have a MFSW.
I will spec a sunroof but the two button approach on a Up is better than the 2014 which the daughter has as its only one button per side there.
My window switches if they do light up,havent for years.
The Fuel cap, could be an annoyance if you actually lock it,unsure if you can avoid it but will try,not sure if the flap locks on the High up the youngster has, will double check

I at the moment until I say no at least have a sales manager who is prepared to swop a build in the process already as he has 5 on order,so can do that,I dont mind waiting as long as I get one before the price rise.
I have already been offered one in the Uk, but has everything except city-braking;I declined.
With all the options the car, if I want to one day will be easier to sell, plus if they are rare now they will be rare at this age in the future.
We already has a 1.0 A1 at 95 bhp but the Up GTI @ 115 is a complete hooligan to it and just goes to show people still desire warm hatches as long as they are not Ugly like the new swift etc and nobody really is interested in massive BHP but almost at the chassis extemes in a corner,I noticed that already

Priced at 16k with everything and considering the A2 was 7k three years old with Highish miles and this is split new you can see the corners that have been cut but the price reflects it.
Its comfy, airy and I think Good value especially if you take the £159 service package.

Our short lived SEAT Ibiza had a 115PS version of the 1.0 litre engine, and a 7 speed DSG gearbox. It was a great little car, for the 9 weeks it lasted...

Mind you, we had a High Up! with the 75PS non turbocharged version of the engine in 2012, and that was hoot too. Pretty sure that the steering controls did work the phone though? The same car with an extra 40PS must be great fun!

Personally i dont think of it as a real gti (but I prefer it to the outgoing polo gti) and don’t expect it be as desirable as a Lupo gti in the future but I look at it as a nice nippy cheap to run car. I only wish it came out a couple of years ago so I could pick up a second hand one. I would say that any extras would only detract on the second hand market with beats being the only exception and I think the 3 door will be more sought after as it will be rarer.

A DSG box for the up would have been specc'ed too.
I do about 4-5k a year in a car so that is how the TDI milage has evened out,Currently around 144k

I loved the Daughters High up, she described the GTI after driving it as her carbut but has done a line of coke... hey ho!
