Information Anyone know this A2? eBay

That would imply that a car dealer would not be able to let a prospective owner see the log book. I would not purchase a car without seeing the log book…. Need to check the numbers etc.

Besides, if the dealer really wanted to , all he had to say was, let me contact the previous owner to see if they will allow you to contact them.

And no one could pass on address/name details on a piece of paper…… absolutely bonkers….. absolutely bonkers I say??
I believe the dealer cannot give you the logbook with the previous owner’s name and address on it - you would instead be given the new keeper supplement which doesn’t have this information.

If I was the dealer I would not want to be contacting previous owners of a car I’m selling because a prospective purchaser might (or might not) buy it.

I think you’re being unreasonable in expecting this Paul.

They only give you the slip if you have bought…… I would want to make sure chassis number/engine number matched. Unreasonable, not at all, some of the ‘Arthur Daley’s’ out there should not be allowed to trade. They steal your cash when you trade in your car and steal your cash when you purchase a car….. very few are trustworthy. Would I go into battle/over the hill with any of them, not a chance??
