Are all A2 air filter elements the same?

I think the answer is yes, but just checking. There's a few on ebay which have slightly different engine code variations but they all look physically the same.

They are all exactly the same - well, the original ones are anyway - I can't vouch for aftermarket ones.

Just to avoid confusion I think Steve was asking about air filters while Alan was referring to pollen filters - although the VW link does list both

Ah, are we getting crossed wires over air filters and pollen filters?

In any case, the pollen filters are all the same too, but you're right Alan, the charcoal ones are better at keeping extrenal smells and fumes at bay.
