AUB engine

Doing both a straight AUB engine swop or BCB with AUB parts is not that hard to do.

You need an AUB engine from a Skoda Fabia not an polo of Lupo.

the Fabia unit have the starter motor on the front of the engine like the Audi A2, This means you can you the Audi A2 gearbox.

All the sensors are the same so you can use the standard Audi wiring loom.

You will only need to swop the plugs for the fuel injectors.

ECU from the Skoda will plug into the standard loom too. you will need the pin code for both the original ECU and the Skoda unit, you can then program with Vagcom.

If you are going to use the BCB 1.6 engine there are a couple of things to need to be a where of. the sumps are different and most be changed over. you can use both the original A2 unit or the Skoda AUB unit.

the BCB engine has an oil cooler which you don't need, so just remove and fit 1.4 unit.
 
this is my everyday car, so with monitor the fuel in the next couple of weeks . with the AUB engine in the car I was getting about 300 miles to a full tank. AS I am still running the same injectors and same ECU map, I don't think it will be much different.
 
Happy to say that the car uses no more fuel . Still getting about 300 miles from a tank . Refilled the tank now and rised the fuel pressure from 3bar to 3.8bar . Will see how we go .
 
Happy to say that fitting this mixed parts engine works very well . The 200cc extra with all the AUB parts helps with low down torque and power top end . Now in both 4 and 5 gear you can just pick up speed on duel carriageway with out changing down gears .

This is my engine bay . 2001 Audi A2 with BCB 1.6 engine with AUB Rocker cover, Cams and sump.

Exhaust manifold is from polo 6n2 gti.
CDA induction filter .

Nice work celsisone, still running strong?. I have also plans to do this BCB+AUB hybrid for my A2. Let see how it goes.
Has anyone else done this mod? Project pictures would be highly appreciated.

Hi, thanks for sharing your experiences. Any thoughts on replacing AUA with BCB without changing anything else? My AUA is worn out so need to replace it, but not looking for maximum hp.

I rang celsisone to discuss this swap and he gave me an account of what needs to be swapped over from the aua engine. If you pm me I can send the list to you on Monday when back on a pc. I would imagine he’s a little busy with fitting his TT engine.
 
Not to hijack the thread, but what about swapping BBY with BCB? They have the same 4-coil setup. Would it work well with keeping the BBY ECU?
