It worked with a fully charged battery. The car is alive and shifting as it should!! Still can't believe they were quoting me 1200 euro... it cost me 120 euro for the new hose, o-rings, lock spring, and fluids. That's why people have trust issues. This said, thank you all and again, MVP to RAB.
 
Good news! As long as the hydraulic system is maintained pro-actively, they really are reliable! Neglect means expense!
