Audi A2 Bodykit..... nearly there!

Well.....

After 5 months... yes FIVE months of trying to get the parts, today I had the call.... 'Sir, your parts have arrived!'....

As most of you know I bought an A2 bodykit from a dealer which was meant to be complete but ended up missing the side skirt mounts and the rear valance towing eye cover. I then called no less then 15 dealers in the network to try and find these parts, most of whom said they couldnt / didnt know how to get them.... all except one!

The parts department have sourced the parts and have them in the post to me today. At a cost of.... wait for it..... £40! Not cheap im sure you will agree, not to mention the 5 month wait.

I have called the Audi dealer where I bought the kit from, and hopefully they will be good enough to offer the cost of these parts (kit was sold as being complete!), or something as a token for the amount of hassle its been getting these parts which were meant to be in the bag.

Anyway, a step closer to having the kit complete and fitted now!

I always find sourcing parts the hardest and the most rewarding part of an modification :D

We are looking forward to your efforts

Glad you got them. VW (well Votex) make a kit for the new beetle, and if you get hold of a front bumper with no grills, then you are stuffed - you cant buy them seperately, anywhere!!!!!! SO count yourself lucky you could get them.

Hehe! I know... I spoke to Lancaster Audi to see if they will pay for the parts since the kit was sold as being complete. They asked me to write in to the Business Manager stating my case! Parts missing... what else is there to know!

Anyway, everything is present here now. I will list the name of the dealership whos parts depertment pulled out all the stops to get me these parts, as soon as they come through. I will take some pics and part numbers etc :)

Closer to the end now...! I only hope Lancaster Audi will come good and pay for the missing parts then all this will have been a lengthy, but worthwhile process.

I have done a nice letter to Lancaster Audis Business Mgr asking for payment for the missing parts :) I hope they come good now!

All the parts arrived through today, I will take some pics when I'm home and list up some part numbers which are on the bags. It might help somebody else in future if they need the same parts.

Has anybody had experience of Lancaster Audi after sales? I spoke to them yesterday about the missing kit parts, and was told that because the kit was reduced price that you should assume its not complete or sold 'as is'! I pointed out that I was told specifically that the parts were in the bags, and the only missing items were the instructions and the adhesive.

I hope they come through on this one, as it seems unfair to dictate terms of sale after selling an item as being complete. Without the sideskit brackets the kit is not possible to fit correctly and all the parts I have been chasing since August 2006 are part of what is shipped by Audi as a 'complete kit'.

I will keep you all updated on my progress!

Hi all....

Here are the pics of the items received. They were sourced from Doncaster Audi from quite possibly the most dedicated parts dept chap ever Tony. He chased these parts up back to Germany and then the kit manufacturer. The longest wait was for the towing eye cover. Hope this helps anybody else who is missing these parts.;)

Yep! Me! I should give Tony a call! I also have 1 jack hole cover missing (lost in transit). Thanks!

Hi could you give me the part numbers for the black bits as im missing them i can only see the closest one in picture. how much did it all cost im also needing the towing eye cover

Interesting that the towing eye cover is actually the same part number as the standard side covers, where you'd slot in the jack. Very unlike Audi to re-use a part, when they could add to the expense by making a slightly different one!

Cheers,

Mike
