Audi A2 by Mtl - getting it back on the road as a weekend car

Taking advantage of every nice day (weather) and this time the location is very near my home. Sadly one camera died, so this video is a little bit short :(:
PS: When I was setting up cameras a Porsche Cayman GT4 drove by twice :). You can see the tire marks on the road.
 
I am still on 13 years old tires even though that I already have a new set of wheels+tires ready. I explain why in this video.
 
Sadly my car is parked for the winter, so I do not have so much content on it.
But a week ago I have installed BlueMusic bluetooth adapter (already discussed here: https://www.a2oc.net/community/inde...-streaming-and-phone-for-concert-audio.50494/) and I am very satisfied with it.
The whole installation process and testing is presented in this video:
I can't wait to take the car on a drive and listen to my favourite music.

I also got a new toy, which should enable me to get more attractive footage of A2. But sadly probably not before March :(. This will give me enough time to learn to fly it :).

The new toy is really good I’m just waiting for the next A2 get together to use mine.

Finally I found time to edit the video of the first drive in 2023, which was in the beginning of February when there was 14 days of sun in Slovenia. As always I loved it especially since it was on one of my favourite roads.
By that time I have also (somewhat) learned to use the drone, so the video is much more scenic…

Another lovely video by you well done indeed, nice bendy country road, who flew the drone while you were driving.

My 13 years old son flew some of the shots, some of them I just set the drone in the air and drove by :). That is the magic of the drone.
Also other shots with the camera on the turns were done by him.

Thx, I try to get better in video editing, but I am not a professional filmaker, so this is my reach ;).
Anyway, I just cannot believe how much joy A2 gives me. In the meantime I bought a much faster/more powerful/sportier NA toy and there is no way it can compete with A2 in smiles per mile category. Which is kind of sad. Although that is also because of my driving skills limitations, but nevertheless.

Well, I love my A2 but I also hate it, because it made me buy Twingo RS Cup...
Though interestingly smiles per miles ratio is still better with much lower powered A2 :).
 
I was very excited to finally have time and verify that this trick about activating consumption display on small DIS really works. And it does, though it does come with some potential problems. But I will mitigate them and for me it is worth it. #happy
 
I have put together all the costs that I had with my Audi A2 in the last 1,5 years and of course they went over the planned budget:
Still worth it though :).

Following your advice, I enabled this on my 2001 TDI (AMF), and it works like a charm with no downsides! Thank you for this great tip!

On our particular car, the Average MPG shown when you start the car each time, appears to be the average MPG from the last trip. It's different every time, and goes up as well as down, and seems to be realistic.
 
Perfect, I am glad it worked. Interesting thought about average display. I will need to test this.

Today i tried to add fuel consumption line in my small DIS and it worked! 2001 AMF. Thanks to @bono05 for this information. You need to change code in [17] - Instrument Cluster. Need to change last digit to 5. But question is what this change does to a2 besides adding fuel line in DIS? In...

I am watching all these videos with great interest- they are all excellent. I found a Bluemusic alternative on Amazon (£17!) but of course, it doesn't work. Will the Bluemusic kit work without a CD changer to plug into it do you think? I have the correct head unit (it has an aux-in 'Connect2' kit at the moment) and if so, I will buy a proper Bluemusic kit! Thanks :)
 
I am glad that the videos help. I also bought a cheap BT adapter before going for BlueMusic and it also did not work. It was visibly different becauce it had less wires.
Before buying BlueMusic confirm with them that it will work with your exact radio ;).
