Audi A2 panoramic sunroof

Can anyone offer any advice re problems with the panoramic sunroof on AUDI A2 SE 1.4 02 plate. Had problems trying to close it, sounds like a machine gun and slips on the cables. Took it to a very trustworthy Audi garage and was told that they will need to remove the whole roof to replace cables and all that comes with it, problem is they are unable to get hold of an Audi frame to hold the frame of the car in tact whilst the roof is off - this job is going to cost in the region of £1.5K.

Has anyone had similar problems, if so, how was it fixed, where and for how much?

Any advice would be welcome - I was about to sell it as well so timing is awful! Apart from that it has been a great car!

hi, do a search on the site for panoramic roof, you will see it is a problem for a lot of members and so far there is not a simple or cheap fix to this

Hi Lolly, welcome to the A2oc

Several club members have had similar problems with Open Sky roofs and none have found a garage which seemed willing and competent to fix them.
If it sticks in the open position it helps to get an assistant to gently push the roof closed while you press the switch.
