Hi All.

Just joined the club with a 190k mile 2002 Tdi example.
fully serviced from new.
My question is this. Where are the best places to get A2 parts from?

Suspension and brakes?

Trim and switches?

Best wishes.

Welcome aboard Don :)

Trim and switches and working used parts are best purchased from our resident ethical breakers @A2Steve and @Clackers, they are often offered via the Marketplace section (or you can PM them with requirements). To get access to the Market, click your user name in the top black menu bar, select Account Upgrades, there's a £2 one-off fee via PayPal and you're done ?

You'll probably see various recommendations for brake and suspension component brands around the site, order from any reputable online supplier. Or if you don't fancy doing the work yourself, you're not too far from WOM Automotive near Uttoxeter, who are the go-to guys for all A2 mechanicals and will only use decent quality parts.

@jp.oog is also now refurbishing switchgear (worn out soft touch).

I swear by Febi Bilstein for small components as they do an awful lot of them and they are readily available once you work out which one you need (for instance sensors, oil cap, coolant cap, fuel tank cap etc.). Suspension parts - Febi-Bilstein, TRW, Lemforder, Meyle - you won't really go wrong with any of those.

Most things OSS - @Kleynie

Engineering of other parts including OSS components, wiper arm renewals, fuel filter drain screws - @depronman

Was beaten to naming @A2Steve and @Clackers for almost all parts from dismantlings but would have done so had it not been posted above.

Hi Welcome donp38,
Yes it's true I can refurbish worn out switch gear. I'm currently offering an exchange service on headlamp switches, window switches (and bezels) and climate units (with and without heated seats).
Pm me if you're interested.
James

Depends what trim parts you need, I have a few bits here and it also depends on the colour of your interior(grey/black/dark grey).
@A2Steve and myself are more than happy to help wherever we can, and others on here too.
Please feel free to inbox requests, or even post on this thread so others can also help out.
Cheers
Andy
