Hi folks,
just wondering if anyone had simillar problem; my Audi A2 won't start up properly it's as if the plugs have gone, but they're brand new and it's still the same.Doesn't matter be it warm, cold, if I've just turned off the engine; it's always the same.
Any idea what might be wrong?

As you have a TDi, the plugs won't be an issue in this weather.

A diagnostic scan is the best way forward and if you're anywhere near Manchester, drop by and I'll see what I can do. If elsewhere, check the member map to see if there's a suitably equipped member in your area.

Cheers,

Mike

It just kind of coughs if you know what I mean, like when the battery in other cars is dead or low. It's 8 years old now.
Thanks :)

Hi Ellie, welcome to the A2oc
One of the common problems for poor starting (engine cranks for ages before firing up) is a faulty fuel filter. This can happen after the filter has been changed, particularly if a 'pattern' part has been used. Other possibilities are fuel leaks from the pipes - any fuel stains on the drive or a smell of diesel. After that, a diagnostic scan to check for faulty engine sender units etc would be the next step. If you'r lucky enough to be within easy driving distance of Mike then take up his offer as you won't get better service - at a very reasonable price - anywhere.

Cheers Spike
