Hello,

So i recently bought a audi chorus, but when it arrived i discovered it has no mode button. i remeber from years ago that pressing mode slected the cd changer. but this model doesnt have that button. so, can a cd changer still work with this headunit? or can I wire a switch or something? or is this just not possible at all?

Thanks

Hi Findlay,

Generation 1 stereos were fitted in 2000/2001 A2s. They include...
  • Chorus 1 (single-DIN, tape deck, without ability to run an external device e.g. CD changer, aux-in, Bluetooth, etc)
  • Concert 1 (single-DIN, tape deck, with the ability to run an external device e.g. CD changer, aux-in, Bluetooth, etc)
  • Symphony 1 (double-DIN, tape deck and CD player, with the ability to run an external device e.g. CD changer, aux-in, Bluetooth, etc)
It was not possible to get a single-DIN CD player as a Generation 1 stereo.

Generation 2 stereos were fitted in A2s from 2002 onwards. They include...
  • Chorus 2 (single-DIN, tape deck, with the ability to run an external device e.g. CD changer, aux-in, Bluetooth, etc)
  • Concert 2 (single-DIN, CD player, with the ability to run an external device e.g. CD changer, aux-in, Bluetooth, etc)
  • Symphony 2 (double-DIN, tape deck and integrated 6-disc CD changer, with the ability to run an external device e.g. CD changer, aux-in, Bluetooth, etc)
Please say hello to Torquil for me. :)

Cheers,

Tom

Ah ok, i have the wrong thing. looks like I will have to wire into the canbus with the concert 2 stereo.
from what i understood from the german website, i need to get 2 thin wires and twist them together to stop interference.
Radio (the 20 pin connector) PIN 7 goes to the green connector in the instrument cluster (a 32pin connector) to PIN 22
Then PIN12 On the radio to pin 23 on the instrument cluster.

Is this correct?

I will do, Ive been a wee drive around in his a2 with the new mods and I think he is going a good run around today in it.
