Audi diesel not consistent starting ..HELP ..

Right 1.4 TDI BHC engine recently had full-service nearly thousand pounds spent and it seemed okay before certainly didn’t have this problem before it went in the garage go to start it and it starts first time another time engine just turns over if you don’t catch it that first time it just keeps turning over but doesn’t fire .. then eventually it will ..take it for a run stop it go shopping come out you could have same problem anybody any ideas I did think if garage changed the fuel filter maybe that was something ... I’ve no idea .fault code came up cam sensor cleaned that off drove for a couple of days ..same problem ..??

I had the same symptoms for a while with my ATL engined TDI also following a big service. It then became a dangerous total loss of power when driving smoothly. Lots of info on here confirmed by people (Audi specialists) who had serviced car. They replaced both cam and crank position sensors. Fixed. Made me wonder whether something in the process of a service can upset sensors... atb

Being the BHC engine it has the later plastic fuel filter housing. They mate have overtightened the 5nm screw and cracked the housing slightly that's allowing air into the system!!??

as above check filter housing for cracks (you smear vasaline around the filter housing, screw , could seal / stop air into the fuel system temporay fix)
