Audi specialist or technician wanted for ECU issue.

In that case you need legal advice, especially as the original quotation included a new ECU, which he hasn't provided and would have covered most of the £800. Frankly, he shouldn't be charging you anything for his failure. Have you contacted Trading Standards or Citizens Advice? They are both free. You also need to think about a "review" on Facebook!

He's first quote was 700£ for the throttle body ,after agreeing of replacing such an expensive part that cost same price I paid for the car, came back to me after couple days saying there is more to it ... In the form of a short-circuited ECU, and the price is and additional 800£ ...
To get legal advice is a long road and I need my car as soon as .
Contemplating a review on Facebook and Google, although I'm thinking posting a photo with the bill would be enough

Was the car running when you took it to him? If so, he's responsible for the ECU anyway. Going to court is fairly straightforward:

Mediation is probably all that would be necessary. You should certainly speak to Citizens Advice. They may have similar complaints against the same garage.

Unless you signed his T&Cs agreeing that the car (not the parts, of which there seems to be no evidence he bought)) remains his property until bill is paid, you can take it away. Is there anyone on here who can recommend a competent garage not too far away? You need somewhere to take it as a first step, ideally with transport. Do you have breakdown insurance, with recovery? After all it is broken down.
You need a plan, whether or not you pay him. Concentrate on that plan, something ;positive is what you need right now.
Legal options can wait, they all take time. Get the car away from where is is.
Is he cash only? If he'll take a CC payment, use that, then open a disputed transaction with your CC provider.
Mac.

Car was trailered to his premises, car died on me on M6 with whistle and bells. The engine was turning tho ... Hopefully it will still turn, although he told he took the bad original ECU out and plugged back in the one I bought ... Which if I want someone to do a diagnostic will not be possible because the wrong ECU. I'm I right ?

I didn't signed anything, but he has the car key (one key only), which I don't think he will return it to me until bill is payed.

If the engine was still running, at that stage the ECU would have been OK. If the two ECUs have the same part number, as your photos suggested, they are the same. If not, they are not interchangeable.

If the £800 quotation was for a new ECU, that's what he has to supply. If not, he cannot charge you that amount.

He's not because I refused to do it, but he's charging me for the attempt of the second ECU I bought + the 700£ throttle body. Total 800£ for half job ...
