Hi Carla,My A2's airbag light came on remains on. Can anyone please help?
My local garage has advised me that they don't deal with electrical issues and were unable to recommend anyone.
Can you please recommend someone in East London or Essex who can help me with this problem?
Thank you
Hi KeithHi Carla,
Is there any history to this fault ?
The reason I ask is that it’s fairly common for the plug under the front seats to get dislodged when the interior is being vacuumed or washed & may be a simple fix.
Hope that helps you
Keith.
It works on my A2I'm not sure A2 airbag warnings/alarms can be cleared with VCDS. Certainly not on my Mk1 TT.
Mac.
Remember, the air bag is explosive, so, another vote for Ian. I'd not fiddle with one, for sure.No disrespect to anyone posting here. If Ian @Bargepower has kindly offered to do a VCDS scan I certainly would take him up on the very generous offer. Ian knows what he is doing so is more than capable to SCAN THEN REPAIR. This is far better than trying to get someone who does not have confidence or experience that could cause death if something went wrong. Perhaps once the car has been scanned and it is only a loose connection, then the OP could try refitting the connector if the fault reoccurs. But if the fault is more serious, that is where Ian will have the experience to advise what steps to be taken. By all means offer help but in this case I do firmly believe it needs to be that hands on type.
Guys remember " safety is no accident"....
Suppose it is now up to the OP if she gets in touch with Ian.
Before doing so, make sure that the battery is dis-connected!Perhaps once the car has been scanned and it is only a loose connection, then the OP could try refitting the connector if the fault reoccurs.
I'm really glad I was wrong. If only Mk1 TTs were that simple..Great Forum!¬.So, car scanned and airbag error was the passenger side airbag igniter, intermittent connection.
Error cleared, and it’s not come back.
Looks like it was an historic error for the seat airbag plug, however, we’ve made arrangements that if it comes back on I’ll take tools and remove the seat and check out the connection and wiring.
It didn’t come back on on the return trip to the station, so fingers crossed ??
