Deciphering the instruction sheet on these Auto Headlamp kits is pretty much impossible and so I have been "experimenting".
User rgh-key has helped on an earlier post too)
I can't say I have managed to interpret them, but I have made SOME progress and found SOME features.
By the way, I believe that the "Width" lamp mentioned on the sheet refers to the "sidelights", the "Low beam" is the headlamps.
After MUCH experimenting I was left with a problem, my sidelights were constantly on even in bright sunshine.
I had almost given up and put it down to a fault but I discovered the way to reset everything back to factory settings.
Hey presto, everything was reset and everything went back to standard.
1. So the most useful one is this factory reset.
To do that you have the ignition off (always have the key out when you do any settings that need the ignition off)
This is not an exact science but you need to switch between off and auto reasonably quickly.
If you have done it right the "front fog" indicator on the headlamp ring should flash a few times. That indicates the resetting back to "factory" settings.
You might need to try it a few times and with varying pauses, but it will work. (After resetting you may need to do the following to get it operational again) Ignition on. With the switch in the OFF position, switch to Auto and then back to off.
2. Auto headlamp delay -The same sequence carried out with the ignition ON, will adjust the auto light delay. This is useful if your auto headlights are coming on even if you have just gone under a very small bridge rather than a tunnel.
I set mine to a 5 second delay. All that does is to delay the lights from coming on or going off for 5 seconds. It has nothing to do with sensitivity etc.
With it set to 5 seconds you are less likely to appear to be flashing the car in front (my reason for changing this setting)
So switch the ignition on and quickly move from off to auto to off again, the "front fog" indicator will flash to show the setting you have selected.
1 flash is a 1 second delay, 2 flashes indicates a 3 second delay and 3 flashes indicates a 5 second delay.
3. Coming home / leaving home light delay - to lengthen the amount of time they are on for follow this sequence.
The ignition has to be off and the key out
Start with the switch in the OFF position, then go OFF to Auto to OFF to Auto to OFF you will now notice the fog light pulsing a green lamp, count these, it's the amount of seconds that the lights stay on for, once you have the required amount turn the switch to AUTO to confirm.
4. Sidelight sensitivity
I have tried this and it does seem to change the setting but I am not sure if it makes much difference.
Ignition ON, switch to sidelight position, move to headlight position and return (quite quickly). The front fog indicator will flash a number of times to indicate the change.
5. Headlamp sensitivity
Ignition ON, start at the headlamp position and switch to sidelights and back (quite quickly). The front fog indicator will flash a number of times to indicate the change.
6 "Auto" fog lights ???.
Not sure why you wouldn't just pull up the switch? When I tried to set them onto Auto, the front fogs were on while driving (might be like DRLS?)
to switch on or off the front fogs do the following.
Ignition ON, turn to the sidelight position , then to Auto and back to sidelights quickly and the fog lamp will indicate the setting. Your front fogs will be on.
7 "Manual" Fogs ON and Off (not sure why you don't just pull the switch up and down as usual?)
Ignition ON, switch set to Auto, move to sidelights and back quickly and your front fogs will stay on. (auto to Off and back again to do the same for the rear fog lamps)
I hope this helps?
At least you can experiment now you know how to do a factory reset?
