Badger vs. A2!

Not quite as comical as it may first sound, but I had a coming together with a badger last week, which has caused a fair bit of damage to the A2. I wasn't able to get photos, I was more worried about getting it home, since we were on holiday at the time.
In summary, it looks like it needs a new air con rad, front lower grill, passenger fog light, both fog light surrounds, a new under tray, new washer fluid bottle and pump and maybe a new radiator and bumper! The car did make it home though (over 160 miles). I risked driving it since both the air con rad and coolant rad were bent, but not leaking, it was also a lot easier than waiting for a tow truck! The rest our holiday was completed in the MX-5, with considerably less luggage!

An insurance claim is going through, so I should be back on the road sometime next week.

Needless to say, the badger didn't make it.

Cheers,

David

We went over one last week - already dead, but didn't see it due to the car in front swerving at the last minute.

It simply sailed under the car and caught on the central spoiler that I fitted! No damage, other than a few hairs caught, but not enough for a shaving brush unfortunately!

Cheers,

Mike

This happened to my A2 back in 2004. Almost the same kind of damage. The final bill was something like £1453.

It illustrates just how low the A2 sits on the ground - of all our cars it's the only one which scrapes the ground as I enter our drive. Perhaps I need a 36" suspension lift for country roads. Imagine the Caddy (http://www.a2oc.net/forum/showthread.php?t=3089) on steroids.

You are right Ben, I was surprised by the damage! The repairer got back to me on Friday to say the bumper was damaged internally, so he has ordered a new one. Should be here tomorrow, so hopefully the car will be back with us on Thursday. 2 weeks without an A2 is a long time!!!! I'm not sure how I coped without it! At least all those stone chips will be gone now too! There had to something good come out of the whole event ;)

Cheers,

David
