Morning Murdo,

If you're quick there is a cheap OEM used set here. I know some members have fitted the aftermarket items which are very cheap I believe.

Can anyone reading this share their thoughts on the AliExpress items for their quality and also a link.

Thank you so much for the kind words, it mens a lot. I'm glad its been this well received by the Admin Team and I thank you all for being ready to jump in and assist to get us to the 115 figure. Im sure they won't be in the shop for long though.

As much as I will Murdo, I shouldn't really take too much credit for doing this. Much like the number plate surrounds a few years ago, I have simply stolen/copied (you decide) someone else's idea and taken it to the next level. Paul has been a massive help also with various suggestions and considerations but the praise must go to all the members of this great community who have shown interest, without this amazing interest this would just be another idea which gets parked.

Thanks again for the support from the Admin Team.

Kind regards,

Tom
Thanks a mill Tom. I've bought them. The purist in me likes that they are OE.

Updated list for everyones awareness:

Over half way there in just a few days, utterly brilliant.

I have received an email from Cut-Tec which I can only guess is the revised quote.

I'll have a read of it shortly and get back to you all.

Kind regards,

Tom

Evening all,

Some great news here after reading the email from Ash at Cut-Tec. They can indeed supply our footrests in stainless steel 304 DP1 (brushed finish).

He also pointed my attention to the very bottom of the first quote, it clearly states down there that the quote is only valid for 30 days and excludes 20% VAT. I really don't see this as a show stopper as the footrests price, in my eyes, is very very good.

Below is the latest quote which has the improved material used as requested. I will also save me trying to make a jig and give all the footrests a brushed finish, which will no doubt take time and delay you receiving your order:

You will notice that the price per footrest is now £3.26, an increase of only by £0.65, which I don't think really needs a conversation and starting the list again. Im sure the additional 65p will be so worth it. This of course doesn't include 20% VAT, with said 20% VAT added it will come to £3.91 per footrest. I do apologise for not seeing the small print on the bottom of the first quote, but this would have had to been added to the initial quote anyway.

You will also see that with the increased price (due to the better material used as requested by some members) that we only now need interest in 93 footrests, we're already 2/3 of the way there. I wander if we should be considering the larger order to get them a little more cheaper by ordering the £500 option @ £2.80 (@£3.36 with VAT) per footrest. To keep things simple and quick it might be worth sticking to the £300 order. Ian @Proghound can I have your collective thoughts on considering the £500 order. If we were to stick to the £300 order I think these might just sell out and we will end up ordering twice. Personally do not mind paying £3.91 for a bespoke footrest but always happy for a further discount.

I will update the spreadsheet now with the new price including 20% VAT.

New spreadsheet here:

Please do let me know if you wish to withdraw your interest since the change of material use along with VAT added.

Kind regards,

Tom

Anthony,

Your request has been added to the order, please note the new price. Main change is that we have changed the material from Aluminium to Stainless Steel with a Brushed Finish along with adding 20% VAT. I don't see this as a bank balance disaster but happy to remove you along with anyone else who doesn't like the new price.

Kind regards,

Tom

Hi Tom
Put me down for two please!

thanks for putting in the effort on this, I know how much it takes (from experience)?
Cheers

A2OC for me please.
Evening again,

After a PM with Graham @audifan, I know that he would like to replace the 'A2" cut out with "A2OC'. What does everyone else think?

Keep it as just 'A2' being cut out or have 'A2OC' cut out instead.

So far there are over 40 members who have shown interest with only 1 suggesting a change in design. Please do speak up good people as the CAD File is very close to being sent to Cut-Tec and will not be changed once sent. You will all of course see what the revised file looks like as Paul @depronman will make another cardboard template, a picture as such will be uploaded onto here soon as its ready.

Kind regards,

Tom

Tom,

Re the design, I'd go with just the A2 cutout, as-is. You can't really represent the 'OC' being in red in a cutout :D so it wouldn't do the Club logo justice. That's my £0.02 though, feel free to disagree, anyone :)

Re the implications of the new order size on the Shop, I've posted the question in our Admin thread. My thoughts for what it's worth are that with most regular members on here probably having ordered in the initial batch, sales might well be slow for the remainder, so if there aren't many of the 93 left, that probably wouldn't be an issue. That could well also be the right order size for re-stocking if they do sell. However if the initial interest does go over 93, equally that shouldn't be a problem for the Shop to take the excess from 179. You should know well before the 30-day quote expiry if it's going to be a £500 or a £300 order. I'll update you if there is any major difference of Admin opinion.

Ian,

My thanks go out to you and the Admin Team again for discussing this in such a quick time.

I'm positive that the first 93 footrests will be spoken for before long and the discounted price for the larger order isn't massive. I'm certainly more than happy to pay £3.91 per item. I think the initial £300 sized order is, as you say, just right for now and for future stock orders.

Kind regards,

Tom

Ref the cutout I would go with A2. Not everyone will want the club logo on the car. So A2 will be an attractive option to any A2 owner wanting a wee lift to the interior trim. Only my view.

Tom - Thanks for the update. Please note that your email is visible on the quotation.
Rectified thank you.

I did realise that I needed to scribble it out but forgot at the time of uploading, my pea sized brain in action again.

Kind regards,

Tom
