best way to get a spare keyfob?

I have looked around on the forum but still am a little unclear what will be the most cost effective way to get a spare key. If I buy a blank one on eBay, will I be able to program its keyfob to work with my car by following the resyncing instructions here? Or do I need to go to a dealer to have it programmed? Who can cut the blade? Again, stealers only? Many thanks for any advice.
 
What is the model and year of your car? (an A2 I take it)

PM'ed you mate. You will NOT be able to program your car using the insructions with any eBay sale, this doesn't work with your A2 as the A2 is a Immo 3 which needs the cars SKC, and Vag Com/Hex running on a laptop to be programmed.
