Aha, well done ! You're doing a mad sleeper.
I am not after performance but fuel economy. Trying to keep the good result of A2 1.2TDI, but going petrol as Diesel is push out of cities.
Eather starting from 1.4i and bringing on all lightweight parts from my 1.2 TDI, or starting from the 1.2 TDI and converting to Petrol...
 
Exactly !! But I have not the ability to be the "first", I do a lot by my-self but I am not yet at the "next level" to do a swap all by myself.
So will wait to see who comes up with such project, will for sure follow and bring my my own experience doing it.
 
Once the 1.8t is done. I plan to fit 1.4 tfsi with 7 speed DSG from a fabia VRS .

Will need a complete car for the conversion. But the unit is small than the 1.8t with 5speed box

Has anyone ever fitted that engine to an A2? That's the conversion I've been pondering for my SORN'd petrol A2 for some time. Mechanically it looks like it would be pretty striaghtforward, using a Polo 1.0 TSi subframe. It's the ECU swap and other electronics that gives me the jitters.

It would be the perfect ICE for the A2 though. The engine that the body deserved, from the get go.

I wouldn’t attempt it without a complete donor car . The engine it’s self with box isn’t that big. But has a lot of accessories on it. And the sensors I hooked to everything. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️
