Bit late for Halloween

I don’t park under trees full stop let alone leave a car near one that it could get that much bird poo on it.

Got to have been there for months??

I wouldn’t wash it by hand either, I’d be taking it through a mechanical car wash, two or three times!

I'd never use a mechanical car wash. My mother used to deal with insurance claims from a well known oil company's customers who put their cars through the wash. Granted most were user error. But it puts you off reading how the mechanism slowly worked its way along the side of their car...

That said, I also have comprehensive set of car washing stuff. I'm one of those people :)

I always wash by hand too as I find it therapeutic (I’m one of them too) but with that much poo I’d be there forever with a pressure washer and sponge and would clog the drainage holes with the rest end up on my drive result in me having to wash the drive too.

Not had a bad experience with mechanical carwashes on the rare occasion I’ve taken my cars to them. My A2 hasn’t ever been in one as I don’t expect they’ll clean properly under the rear spoiler.

Agreed about not cleaning beneath the rear spoler, at least on the outward sweep. I don't expect they'd handle the rear spoiler actually being there on the return sweep though . I've seen a few photos of A2's without them and it strikes me that the only way that would happen would be a car wash.

Indeed, and I’d be even more worried with an FSI since it has a larger rear spoiler that the TDI....... I think?

There was a picture of a blue A2 on the site somewhere missing its rear spoiler and its not a good look.

Re mechanical car washes. I have used them on several occasions with absolutely no problems. When you think about it it is not the spoiler that could be potentially a problem, it is the service hatch that could be prised open the easiest.

A mechanical car wash blew by wife’s rear window in and sprayed the inside of the car with water filled with lumps of glass. My 2 year old daughter was in the car too.

Luckily the smarts seats are solid metal back and don’t have any gaps. My wife’s arm was gashed along the back but otherwise not too bad.

The owners of the garage were frankly dismissive and just pointed out the ‘use at your own risk’ sign. Horrific. Never again.

Also they don’t wash cars very well...
