Responding well to a quick machine polish this morning.

Although the votes are pointing to Dune 2, I haven’t clicked the button yet to buy the bits

Which machine polisher do you use? And what type of prep before you start? I want to get a machine polisher I’m scared about damaging the paint

Eight previous, last recorded keeper change in January this year. Mileage consistant other than a random 148,000 which was quickly corrected.

Everything else clear, it's running original reg number and not had a private plate.

I can see why you were thinking of modding: it's like the Devon car, a good usable and interesting modern classic / starter A2, but it's not going to turn into a three owner, fully historied car in the future. Good one just to use and enjoy.

Got a pic of the inside Steve?

Mines a silvertec rotary polisher with 8 speed settings. It’s at the budget end of the spectrum. Audi laquer is super thick, if you use something like meguirs ultimate compound with it you won’t cut through.

Wow that’s a lot of owners. Hmm it’s a £1000 car at most then in that case.

I’ll get some photos now. Hasn’t been cleaned yet though

MOT history had long period of passes and then it went a bit downhill.

Was off the road from late 2015 to late 2019.

Current ticket to September 20.

Ahh that would explain why the timing belt was done 8k miles ago yet it’s been about 4 years.

Shame about the owners. Are you number nine or is that who you bought from?

Anyway, it'll look lovely in the pics when you get that interior against the metallic black. I'd do some basic work to make it into a nice usable ready to go classic for someone: perfect for just using without worrying about, but still smart enough to rock up in. I'd keep the leather in it: it'll sell that car.

Nice colour and spec, definitely keep it standard, interior will respond well to a valet (those look like original OEM Platinum carpet mats, NLA from Audi as I understand it) and with your mechanical Midas touch you have a really nice motor for someone for not much money with some margin in it for you.

I’m no mechanic, I’m just excellent at taking A2’s apart and ok at putting them back together ?

an FSI without the flap fault, that must be a first, that means the EML will not be covered in blue-tac - bonus
Keep it Std Steve, as others have already said it will make a nice, usable A2 for someone and with the FSI starting to turn a corner in terms of engine issues I'm sure it will sell OK, maybe not just at the moment though

It’s part service history, about 6 stamps I think, quite a bit of paperwork, Timing belt done 10k miles ago.

I’m waiting on the logbook to know owners and haven’t hpi’d it.

I’ve got a set of 17s on the breaker that’s arriving next week, but they are Skoda octavia spiders and in bronze.
love the spider wheels

Bit late to the party, but my choice would be to stick close to standard, but Sport spec, 17" 9 Spokes, Sport ride height etc. FSI are meant to be driven with gusto, they aren't plodders.
Mac.

Hi all. An A2 looking like that and with nice spec, has probably been passed through some family members. As said by others, You've done a very good job another one saved
