Bluemotion MZN gearbox, an alternative...

Thanks Paul that's very kind!

Should I need more I will go for the larger ones, I fitted the 6.5 mm ones with Mr Silvers jdd box and they worked a treat was only when I was prepping Mr blacks mzn that I noticed I slight tolerance so I bought some 0.5mm m10 shims to see what I was dealing with and found by adding 2 to the rear most mount hole on the inside it removed this tolerance nicely so will glue these onto the new mount!
I simply wanted to inform folk of the best solution, I hope it didn't come across as any form of criticism in any way, shape or form especially as you did precisely what I asked and I mean precisely, blooming marvellous!!

No it certainly didn’t come across as any form of criticism
I was simply pampering to your OCD by offering to machine you some thicker spacers.

How’re as these are now available to anyone who needs them if they should be 7.5mm thick instead of 6.5mm then I’ll make any more at 7.5mm thick

Cheers. Paul

Anyone tell me what the switch (plug) under the reversing switch on the MZN gearbox is for?

Could also be the sensor that provides the selected gear to the dash board display

What car is the box out of ?

I am getting my DMF and clutch changed soon on my TDI90 so this and other threads on gearbox options have been really useful to read. I would love to stretch to a 6-speed box and now would be the time but we are not using the car very often and when we do it’s mostly A-roads.

I have seen that MZN and similar boxes are cheap and seem easy to find with low mileages. Any reason why they couldn’t be fitted to an ATL ?

If your keeping the dmf, the bell housing needs machining
