Bmw bobber late life crisis

Bit more done today laid in loom ..gear linkage inc making new bronze Bush ..fitted foot pegs rubbed down and sprayed those brackets ..fitted horns ..filled all the fluids Engine oil and filter ..gearbox oil final drive and drive shaft assembly oils ..
Ordered up new Stainless brake Hoses clutch cable and choke cable and made up another list of odds and ends ..
At this rate I’m going to be twiddling my thumbs as painter can’t complete his bit until end of May ..

Added a full British keihan stainless system front to back ..and fitted bars and instrument modified lower bracket ..not as much time this time of year other Interests ..

Thanks gills ..one of the nicest projects I’ve ever done ..yes in 82 83 BMW were playing around with paints So what was on there was very thin quite a bit of surface rust everywhere..But you’re right it will be better than new all fittings now stainless.. I really went to town because of the mileage 2700 miles from new and 39 years quite amazing really I did the oil pump seal and the crank seal as a matter of course... I can’t wait to see it with the new painted panels on I’ve kept the same colour..suits the gold wheels .also I’ve left the front mudguard All hand pinstriped from factory ..as will all the other panels be once done Roll on end of May.....love to do another maybe an r 90 s ...

I'd forgotten all the pinstriping was done by hand. I've an idea it was just one chap doing all the bikes!

Stainless fittings will look amazing and help keep it that way.

One lady did all the tanks apparently ....I’ve got a friend who is superb at doing the same...He’s always booked up 6 to 8 months Ahead ...as a friend I had mine in 3 months ...7 weeks more to wait .

A little teaser just assembled and badged the rear tackling the front s fairing and wiring Tomorrow Thursday .. Then it’s done just waiting on fuel tank which will be another two weeks but that’s only half an hour job to fit in tune carbs after a little run...The hand pinstriping is superb and badges we cast look great .glad I stuck with the original one year only bmw colour suits it imho ..
Fresh news ..bought another bmw project to do next ..will start planning when it arrives Monday it’s been stored for 15 years so another total strip down but I want to do it into a 100 GS /Franco style ..
