Bodykit with SE wheels

Does anyone have a bodykit fitted on an A2 with standard 16" SE wheels?
Does it look any good or do the wheels look too small?

All the pictures that I've seen have 17" RS4 wheels which obviously look fantastic but just got me wondering..

I haven't seen such combo either. But I might be able to show you in the near future! I just won the bid to a set of rare, Audi OE, A2 body kit on ebay! It doesn't come with the extra spoiler as I believe that comes separately and I'm not a fan of that wing anyway. Only shame is I have 4 badly scuffed SE alloys and it is so hard to find some sunshine these days so I can refurbish them.

BTW it wasn't any of our members selling/bidding it (apart from Skipton off loading his dash)? Because I bought it for 255 + shipping! I believe someone mentioned it costs 699 from Audi?

hi humps you wear bidding with me as i was at work i left it at £250 so you piped me to the post it is a bargin well done

Unlucky Robin! I just managed to get home on time to bid and I was lucky to say the least! London was in caos y'day because most of the Tube and trains were affected by fallen trees/objects! I was inspired by a shinny silver A2 with s-line badge and fully painted body kit circling around Finsbury Square looking for parking at the NCP. It looked very sharp! There are 911 of all kinds, Bentleys, 360s, 430s, new Astons, Lambos you name it parked at that NCP everyday. But as far as head turning goes, that A2 did well! Not bad for a 6yr old design with a bit of body kit and being squeaky clean! So I went straight to ebay and found this kit :) I am one very very happy boy in town!

Yes, I bailed out at £180 as I only wanted the front skirt, which costs £150 new.

Best of luck Humps - it's not necessarily the easiest thing to fit by all accounts.

Cheers,

Mike

Congrats on the bodykit. I was watching that just to see how much it would go for- just nosey!
I've had mine for a couple of months but haven't had a chance to get mine sprayed yet.
Let me know how much you get yours done for and whether it looks any good with your SE wheels!

Mike,

Now why am I not surprised that you have one lurking about your workshop...;)

Am I correct in my assumption that it bonds onto the original spoiler with adhesive?? If so, is this provided?

I guess they all come primed ready for the top coat or this could be wishful thinking on my part I guess?

More food for thought though... thanks for the additional temptation Mike!!:)

Cheers,

Darren

Hi Darren,

Yes, they do bond to the original and should come with the original 'Elch' brand adhesive.

Trouble is, most of the spoiler (and body) kits are a few years old, and the glue has gone off.

I did a bit of research into getting new adhesive kits, but it was a non-starter and I was eventually recommended to use a good builders silicone adhesive.

Ideally, you need to roughen up the old spoiler and also drill 4 holes for the bolts to screw into, but I think they look very tacky and I planned to just use filler to hide any evidence of them, but it's personal choice.

The spoilers do come primed ready for painting, but they could do with a bit of work prior to painting (like filling in the rectangular part number stamp for starters, again with filler).

Mine is filled (the bolt holes are still there in case I changed my mind), primed and painted in Ebony Black Pearl, obviously to match Tank, but I daresay it's go with most colours, especially as the original is in satin black anyway!

Cheers,

Mike

Thanks for the info Mike - most comprehensive.

I will mull it over, though I guess if I end up buying from you, I might as well set up a regular bank transfer into your account... (i.e. retro cruise, S-Line wheel...).:D

If we do end up head to head humps, may the best man win...:)

hmmm.... I'm not so hot on the spoiler. The only reason I would go for it is if I decided fitting the whole kit without the spoiler will look incomplete... not sure...
