oops.

are you 100% sure? what have you already tried?
Sure that the cable on the back of the pull hasn't disengaged?

panic not. This is a common problem that I haven't seen a repost for a while. The front service flap can get stuck because of the catch is not aligned or stuck.

Easiest is to get someone to hold the service flap release pull in the car, then you go to the service flap and gently tuck the flap around to release it from the catch.

Mine had seized [through lack of use!]

It's pretty easy to lubricate if you unscrew the catch... [two screws only]

I had to force ours open, as the lever wouldn't do the business.
There may be a better way to open, but I couldn't find one here.
The catch wasn't broken in the process so I could grease it an refit.

Mine did this a few weeks ago, just needed a bit of WD40 on the catch release...

Hello All,

Further to previous replies, my service flap does open.. But only just! Is there a way of adjusting (shortening) the release cable?

Problem sorted and Thanks for all the posts guys ....

There was nobody around to help with pulling the release lever while trying to fiddle / free the flap... so i eventually prized the flap out enough to enable me to access the 2 'bonnet' release clips.. once the bonnet was off i then unscrewed the release mech and gave it a liberal squirt of wd40 which did the trick !! but still needed a bit of adjustment on the flap catch to get the flap to fit snugly.. ie close flush.. anyway problem solved, and thanks again for the replies.
cheers, dave
