boot floor

The floor panel sits on side rails, part of which are fastened to the sides of the boot. (not sure if they are screwed or riveted so I recommend you check this out before going ahead) The side trim panels also have rather complex cut-outs which the rails fasten through. In theory you need two new side panels but it may be possible to make the cut-outs on your existing panels.
I don't think anyone has done the conversion but it should be possible to make the false floor from mdf or ply covered with carpet - the factory one is in 3 pieces and the carpet acts as a hinge between each section so it can be folded for easy installation.

I have a drivers side spare side trim panel (in mid grey) going cheap if you need one as a template for cutting the slots

The support rails are screwed to the inner rear wings. There are holes there to accept blind captive nuts which you slot in, and they expand when you screw the bolts in. There is a parts list for the job on this site.

I cut slots in the fabric side panels. You have to be quite accurate, but there is a plastic trim piece which goes on top to "hide the join".

Getting all the rear trim out is exciting, as you need to be very careful that you don't break some of the attachment clips.

I didn't make a shelf, but I bought a second hand one from eBay.

Took an afternoon to do. Very pleased with the result, as it covers up my spare wheel nicely.
